I think everyone was actually acting very in-character in A Very Special Episode. Garnet tends to have very flat humor and I remember a season 1 episode where she tells Connie’s mom that the kids died playing with swords. Pearl’s freaking out over Onion being weird feels incredibly iconic. And Amethyst coming in at just the worst moment to tell Steven she misses him feels like classic Amethyst humor.

My personal take on it was that they were acting very in character if this was season one. But as of lately these behaviors seem less likely to me. I think Garnet has gotten a bit less blunt, Pearl has calmed down, and Amethyst.... nah, yeah that still sounded like Amethyst to me. Those were just my thoughts though.

I also like to think that the reason why Bluebird just looks so unpleasant is because this is what a relationship based on hate towards another person looks like. It's a bit different from Malachite where they both hate each other where we get a monstrosity of arms. But at least Malachite looks cool while Bluebird a shiny, space roach and is even subdued like one by Alexandrite.

I really like Bluebird’s design. Kind of reminds me of MadLad from Teen Titans. I also liked Bluebird’s pranks in that they were oddly wholesome. Like TP-ing a car except the toilet paper is neatly stacked, or putting a sign on his back that said “You smell good”; legit didn’t see that coming. Also one underrated moment was when she was like DIEDIEDIE and Steven just has the most FML face ever.

I think it's because yes he's a teen now, but also because he now has a much better grasp on his powers he's more confident in a fight. I think Steven will always try diplomacy and talking someone down durng a fight first, but he's starting to learn sometimes violence has to be the answer. It should be your last option, but you may have to fight.

So here’s my theory on Onion. I believe Yellowtail and Onion are descendants of Steven. When Steven was a baby, he and Greg spent a lot of time at Vidalia’s house. Maybe Steven licked an onion seed and that actually created Yellowtail. Eventually Vidalia met Yellowtail, became a couple, and then of course gave birth to Onion. Yellowtail and Greg are voiced by Tom Scharpling, and Onion and Steven are voiced by Zach Callison. It could be just a parallel/coincidence, but this is what backs up my theory lol. Until then, Onion is indeed a mystery.

They even showed what happened when Steven then threw a tantrum and cracked the walls, reminding Pink pearl of the trauma of when Pink screamed.

What I meant is that pink had these destructive powers (breaking floors, windows etc) which she was aware of, making it very different than the average person's tantrum. If we were to put it in a human perspective, that would be the equivalent of throwing things around, as we humans obviously don't have such powers. Causing such destruction, with the force necessary to damage a gem's form for good, and the obvious psychological impact it had on Volleyball, it is my subjective interpretation that it was abusive, which Pink herself recognized as she tried to change. I think Onion might be the main bad guy this season. In a very special episode we can see a doll of steven with his gem ripped out. What your looking for is the "onions friends" episode where steven narrates for onion. He speakes for Onion saying "nothing can satisfy his hunger for Power". I think onion seeing that Rainbow 2.0 had given him the umbrella with power that he wants that power. And we all know Onion is capable and has done awful things in the past. Im not sure what he is as far as not growing older and being able to survive a rollercoaster crash explosion, but the show has painted himbl in a very ominous light and i hope we see the #truth revealed about onion.

I thought the new episodes were about as funny as the first four, my only complaint is that Bluebird's cliched plot of "paranoid guy turns out to be right all along" is something Room for Ruby already did and it was kinda tired there too. That's why I'd rate it a 7. AVSE on the other hand takes those tropes and mixes them up turning it into a PARODY of a "very special episode". It was a laugh riot from start to finish. People need to remember that this isn't Steven Universe, it's Steven Universe Future: A serious of epilogue-themed episodes in which stuff that they either didn't have time for or didn't have space for takes place. AVSE gets an 8 btw.

Blue Bird is designed after a businesswoman. The food she made for Steven was actually to try and kill him due to she wanted to see if he has hay fever, allergic to Seafood, or allergic to peanut butter. The pranks are also on rubies side and with the sign "You smell nice" on Steven's back both of their pranks together. Now for Bluebirds name is actually a word in the business world as well. In simple words, it basically means if you did something poorly done (like losing to Steven) it doesn't matter since you are there for knowledge and see how are they doing to fight back next time but with better attacks.

Yes, Bluebird's design isn't like sunstone and rainbow 2.0's--but smoky quartz has already taught us that gems can appear in a multitude of ways. also, their color palettes and extra legs speaks to both characters being domineering: yes, they hate steven and they only combine to troll him; makes sense to me that they want to both seem like they were the ones to do it. It was cool to see Greg doing something Steven is having issues doing: letting go of his past--literally, the long hair he wore when he first met Rose. It's the last call to that childishly carefree part of himself--but to give it up for his son (in a way) was dope.

I enjoy Bluebird's design, the fact they hate Steven because he talks too much about love and don't quite get fusion is about love/bonds, but understand it enough to know: Aquamarine: "I hate him." Ruby: *gasp* "OMG Me too let's fuse!" and since I'm a kid from the 90s I love Sunstone, she's honestly my favorite fusion and this episode fully embracing her PSA nature and 4th wall breaks fills me with nostalgic glee.

She's looks like alien race to. And what's a important tip here- she really love thinking about alien stuffs. Ghee, she painted Amethist with any possible shapenshift. She don't mind that Greg have a baby with a alien. Every other character we meet have some "reactions" for magic-gem stuff. Vidalia seems to be more then happy about this knowlege. "Greg's son? Awesome. You are hot. I mean, you will be when you grow up." Half-gem? Who cares!

yea i notice several kids shows focus on the whole friendship thing. for example i also enjoyed MLP;Friend is Magic but I even know how unrealistic a lot of those "friendship is everything and makes the world go around" messages are! sadly in reality friendships and making new friends is NOTHING like what you see in these heart felt kids shows!!! its sad but true....

Bluebird is a gem fusion to be based on Alice in wonderland, as bluebird lower half is like the Caterpillar legs in the story and her other half is the wings of the butterfly at the end. I like Bluebird’s design. I just think she needs to have a nose like Ruby’s. No sleeves, a green tie instead of a blue one representing a combination of Eyeball’s diamond insignia and Aquamarine’s tie, a shorter half red half teal shirt, black straps under her collar and on her shoulders similar to Ruby’s uniform, a short blue shirt, dark red shorts, white stockings instead of long blue pants, her red boots should have blue soles, she should have white fingerless gloves, and should have red and mint patches on her right upper arm, and left forearm.

I liked that he couldn't win bluebird over with friendship, definitely more realistic. But if someone hates u and tries to hurt u, what should u do. He obvious can't just ignore them less more fabulous hair gets hurt. And he can't (or won't) just kill them. Bubbling might work but other dissenters may see this as a diamond disposing of people he doesn't like; just like in the old days

Totally agree with the hate comment from Reddit. Solely as a chill prologue. SUF is fine. It's chill and fun. But I think from the intro, teasers and what has come before I expected some resemblance of storytelling and a plot. But it's none of that so far and it's disappointing. It's just a here is what everyone is doing now that's it. Viewed solely as a prologue it's enjoyable. Not so much if you expected to be a new series with a new story to tell.

Just a theory I noticed that both blue bird and malachite have four legs while garnet, opal, etc have two legs. I think that toxic fusions have four legs while healthy fusions like garnet have two legs
