Please help, just got my VSX headphones but everything seems to be heard normal like a normal headphone, or even muffled n worse, what am i doing wrong here, was so excited to get them, put it on the master channel last in the chain, even the depth knob does not work no 3 d room effect like everyone says, the bypass button only increases the volume but no change in the sound, dunno what im doing wrong please help.

I just got these. And I have a question of how to use these. Do I mix individual channels through my favorite room and change things on the individual channels while in my choice of room. In other words bypass my monitor speakers completely and mix it until it sounds good in the chosen room? And also, why would my mix sound worse in certain rooms than it does on my monitors?

Is the sound really harsh like most flat headphones or is it pleasant to listen to but revealing? I have a pair of AKG 702's that I love/hate because of that.. So thin and lifeless but it helps the mix alot.

Interesting headphones and software. Whenever I want to listen to music critically or for pleasure, I listen with good headphones or monitoring headphones. Rooms seem like a hindrance to listening. Thanks

I tried this at a friends briefly..it was quite strange experiencing the different phasing /emulations of different rooms..mind you I'm not pro mixing-just arranger/composer.

they should really explore into storing the environment presets directly on the headphone itself, so one can reference other mixes on Spotify on the go without having to load up a VST plugin everytime.

@@SonicDriveStudio hey, I didn't know that at first, but upon research, from what I understand the Slate site is recommending 3rd party software to load the VSX software so as to run it systemwide? It isn't as straightforward as Sonarworks though.

@@joea9608 hey buddy thanks for the info. I tried going to the website and I could sign up for the waiting list but I didn’t see the price anywhere. They are a little steep! I know it’s a lot less than monitors and acoustic treatment and they would be great for me since I live in an apartment that I rent and have neighbors, but I was kinda hoping they would be more like $250-$300. But it may still be worth it for me eventually to give em a try.

@@joea9608 yeah it sucks but we just have to adapt and overcome lol. I just got a headrush gigboard that was delivered yesterday and think I’m gonna get an frfr cab so I can play quiet at home and also I can record with my headrush straight into my daw or I have the Gojira Neural DSP plugin.

They are made of poor materials. I purchased a pair that broke after a few weeks. Steven Slate replaced them after six months. The new pair also broke after a few weeks in the exact same place as the previous pair.

If you have a clean sounding pre-amp it should be fine
