One of the moments that really got me hooked to TWD for almost the next decade (back in 2011) was a young Glenn reaching out to Rick who was trying to get away from a crowd of zombies on horseback. The whole interesting group dynamic of surviving the end of the world was killed off by that episode in season 6, and unlike the Red Wedding there was no satisfactory 'revenge' or 'justice' in the following episodes.

It really made me happy when everyone has the same vibe hyping up Steven Yeun :>> When I first learned about him, I was just in my 8th Grade, and he's really a good-looking guyyy. Interesting fact: The biggest fall off between a season's first episode and second episode was season 7 when Glenn died (17m to 12m viewers). It's also got the biggest drop off from first episode to last episode (17m to 11m viewers). The episode where Glenn dies is also the second most viewed episode of the Walking Dead and the point where the show went downhill in terms of viewership

This is actually a fun fact. This show fucked with people's emotions too much. Like yeah, they wanted to be edgy and unpredictable with all the twists, but the end result was that people (maybe I'm just speaking for myself here) didn't feel rewarded for sitting through all that. They couldn't kill Daryl because he was too popular, but they were alright with replacing the black guy every other season.

It's kinda sad for the directors etc because that death DID happen in the comics and it was recreated and adapted beautifully, though doesn't mean it does not break our hearts to see the one light in a horrible world dissapear. We all loved Glenn and Maggie.
