14:03 it's so cool you noticing that cause funnily enough, in the recorded version of "Rock me" there is nothing like that high note, but then live on tour he started to add and add on it (there is somewhere a compilation on yt of his rock me high notes lmao) and you can literally see him making it more and more rock-ish to the point of him kinda stealing the second half of that entire performance even though on paper he had maybe the least rock-type of sound. just proves how versatile he is and how much he loves to explore his range and different styles which is also the reason you will probably enjoy icarus falls even more than mind of mine cause it is literally a box of amazing surprises.

Love your reaction, it’s always amazing to hear Zayn’s vocals. It’s crazy but most people don’t realize his Punjabi and Urdu influences. His super extended runs in the background and crazy high notes are reminiscent of traditional Pakistani music. He’s mixing soul, R&B with traditional music. This particular style is a whole new genre.

I think it would be Hindi and Urdu, instead of Punjabi. I am an Indian, ans listen to Hindi and Punjabi songs. And yes, one can listen to loads of runs/riffs and high notes in Hindi/ bollywood songs.

@@manigupta2299 Yes you’re absolutely right officially it would be Hindi or Urdu. Growing up I went to a school where that was the predominant language spoken by the other children. One day Zayn was walking and a girl told him to “come here” in Urdu, he immediately understood what she said and walked over to her. He said “you got my attention because you spoke a bit of Punjab.” I know that his dad’s side of the family officially speaks Urdu maybe they also speak Hindi and Punjabi I’m not sure.

Jamisha Drayton_Davis honestly no- I went down a 1D rabbit hole back in 2015 and watched literally every 1D video I could find anywhere... I wasn’t paying attention to which video had what. I just remember seeing mainly fan videos (who were focused typically on their fave at a concert) so you would see at times all of them acknowledging at some point a note or run (that often wasn’t planned, or ran exceptionally long) that would have them in awe. Wasn’t every time but I know I saw at least enough videos to say it was all the boys and more than once.
