Our companies rule of thumb , if you change a fill valve you must change the supply tube

That one still has the label on it. A new one would too.
@geraldalfano5581Ай бұрын
I thought code in MA required it. I always do it as well as replace the flapper. The tag still on the supply looks half ass as well as no caps on the closet bolts.

I wonder why those toilets aren’t in individual stalls in stead of being out in the open?
@WeatherNut27Ай бұрын
Interesting one! Thanks! I may just replace the fill valve just as preventative maintenance now

Crazy water staining in that tank.

Amusing they shut down the floor when they could have just shut the water isolation valve to the flooding toilet until Steve got there to repair it.

We lost the pressure regulator in my building years ago. When the fill valve shuts off it dribbles some water out of the top...well, the pressure was so high that dribble blew water over onto the backside of the handle and it was leaking out. Found a gasket that made enough of a seal to keep that from happening. Tried closing the fill valve partially to control the pressure but she screamed like a banshee!

why are there 2 toilets in that room?
@stanpatterson5033Ай бұрын
That's the elephant in the room. At first I thought it was a private residence, but then he started talking about a Hobart dishwasher, well, as far as I know, Hobart only makes commercial stuff, so... yeah. Why 2 crappers side-by-side, with no privacy stalls? Also noticed while he was working on it, another water outlet, disused, just to the left of the toilet he was working on. Perhaps at one time there was a bidet in there? Wouldn't that be a helluvva show to walk in on....

What the F is that round tall shroud around the flapper I never saw one before?

That was a lame attempt as a water saver years ago
@MonoChorMeАй бұрын
Basically it embodies the same principle as placing a filled water bottle inside the tank to save water; whereby the bottle would take up space, thus "making" the tank have less volume for water. Someone introduced this "hack" a couple of years ago too.

Cheap way to try to make high flow toilets low flow. They worked like garbage and gave low flow toilets such a bad reputation.
