How can it make sense to them who are already poor to have so many children who aren't even all able to go to school? Lastly, can you ask Africhange to come to Angola because western union in Angola is a true hustle the way it is organised through some banks (really no one likes going to those banks to get their money of remittance and Western Union does nothing about it). Maybe having competitors it will help change the way customers are treated.

It might sound far fetched, but this community remind me of Venice. When I was there, between all the opulent churches and masterpieces were thousands of cramped tiny medieval houses which looked similar to this, but build with different materials. So if rich there would reinvest atleast some of the money to reinforce local community, it would help a lot and create a gem, even if it may be rough one

0:26. Not sure what you meant by One guy's home. 3three of those houses are fenced off. There are 8 other different houses ,family members? Rented out? The main building with massive entrance garden looks like another house itself. These does not look like One guy's home, looks like an investment project.

That is Mike Adenuga's house. He is one of the richest men in Africa and it is100% just for his family. He has a church and mosque on the property For context, it is located at Banana Island which is an artificial island and perhaps the most expensive place to acquire land in Nigeria.
@Swinju Жыл бұрын
@@ivantruthkovic Mike Adenuga is just not One Guy, he is a billionaire and exception. Yea it's still for his family. How many Bill Gates do we have, Mike Adenuga is on that level. One guy to describe a Billionaire does not really put that statements in to context.

@@okerebenjamin1951, exactly, but he didn’t do proper research about the people residing there but has made Nigeria look bad. There places like this elsewhere in Africa but you’ll never see their Nationals uploading videos like this to de-market their country. Some Nigerians are not patriotic at all. The American has concepts that are simple and can be implemented if materials are availed. Rainharvesting, solar, hydroponics etc. Creating order in the chaos can reduce the diseases(the most dire issue), donating in kind by say transforming a house at a time to starndards like the american's can be a start. Saddest for me is all the potential locked in all the young people because they lack options. Great video. Thanks.

So some people live on the Makoko slums in Lagos? I thought it was just fishermen and I didn’t know alot of people live on the water, they eat, drink, bath, wash, and even defecate in side the water and they still use it for all these things 😭 I only wanted to watch about 10 minutes of the video, but I ended up watching it till the end. Watching the beginning of this video, it's sad how the Nigerian government can not see that there is urgent need for massive education and enlightening of the people living in this community as well as provision of amenities suitable for humans. Rather, they are just interested in building more unaffordable housing. Something needs to be done fast if not, we are simply creating trouble for the future because all these children lacking basic amenities are easy targets for gangs and all manner of evil people. We need to educate our people that having more children than you can look after is a sure way to remain in poverty. If you are struggling to provide for yourself, it is unfair, selfish and wicked to bring a child into the mix and worst still, expect that the children will get you out of poverty. It's high time we started a massive mind changing campaign on how we view children and make people aware of the dangers they expose children to when they are born into severe poverty.

Awareness alone is not enough there needs to be structural change, as long as companies can profit from paying people who live in poverty starvation wages things will stay the same
@zaPolymath Жыл бұрын
I may agree with some of the things you said but you are focused on only seeing that as a problem probably because you think underpopulation is not a problem. Population is not a problem if the government can utilize it and make them productive. The government has no trust in it's people and see the white man as gods. As such they would rather patronize the whiteman than allow their own to build it. The opportunities in our lands are endless, yet we are not encouraged to build things ourselves but forced to develop a taste for foreign goods that is detrimental to our economy and wellbeing as a nation.

American guy was taught "eat every bit of food on your plate cos there's people hungry in Africa". There are people hungry in America as well. Infact there are more people hungry in other parts of the world (including developed countries) than in Africa. Although I get the message we just need to be honest too.

This is not only a Nigerian problem but an African problem, the gap between the rich and very poor is so large that one person holds all the riches of about 1.5 million people,, this is not fair, its like the rich are rich at the cost of millions of other people and the governments are not even concerned,,,
