Mr Tanno! Your videos are a JOY to watch!! Thank you so much for your time and effort!! I own a iiif and am VERY happy about it! Even though this video is about the M3, it made me appreciate my iiif even more!! Your insights are very keen! Your views are very poetic! This videos are also a form of art. I’ll jump right now to Part II.

This is a truly poetic video about the Leica M3. I’m lucky enough to have and shoot the M3 also, and no other camera can give me the feeling that the M3 does. It makes me happy to just handle it, and makes me more thoughtful about what I’m trying to capture. I become much closer to my subject, moving into it, even almost merging with it when I take the shot. It’s my favorite machine.

From the video, I could feel how much you love Leica all the time. Every word you speak is very thoughtful. Thank you for the video and I am really enjoying it because I just bought my first Leica. It is M6 with Summaron 35mm F2.8. The lens also has goggle. You explained it was necessary to have this goggle in M3 but how does this Summaron 35mm work on M6.
@StevenTanno3 жыл бұрын
Use this 35mm lens with goggle on your M6 body is ok, just that 35mm frame line will become smaller.

Leica M3 is the pinnacle of excellence in opto-mechanical engineering. M3 is unsurpassed. I have mine with a 35mm Summaron with goggles, and the 50mm F2 Summicron Dual Range. Simply beautiful.

I have the same M3 with 50mm DR and thinking of adding the 35 Summaron with googles... would you recommend it?
@lensman5762 Жыл бұрын
Yes I do, so long as you don't expect modern rendition from the Summaron. @@smith507

what goggles does he have on there ?
@lensman576210 ай бұрын
Its the one for 35mm F2 Summicron. They are usually integral to the lens.The M3 does not have framelines for 35mm lens. The goggles allow the 50mm framelines to be used for the 35mm. Simply genius.@@LifeOfMikey1

The Leicameter MC was not cable linked to the camera It was mechanically linked to the shutter speed dial. That is what the slot is for. Before mounting the meter you turned the dial so the slot pointed rearwards. You then slid the meter with the prong set so it entered the slot. You then used the wheel on the meter to set shutter speeds.

Hello Steven, i am looking for a Leica M3. and stumbled upon your channel and videos. I have watched quite a lot of your videos relating to the Nikon cameras which i have. Your presentation is quite enjoyable to watch. 30+ yrs being a photographer, I still love learning more things about photography from other photographers. What you said in this video about focusing a shot on a film camera vs i digital is 100% , We can accept the slightly off focused film shots(it actually even enhances most images, gives it a feeling/mood)where as on a digital image we can only accept pixel peeping sharpness. Just subscribed and am going to go thru and watch your other videos . Cheers from down under.🍺

just stumbled upon you and this video and yeah, (in your own way) you rock! i'm a 'double stroke' owner and the way it makes me feel when i slide the advance lever that second time is so classic and true (my leica mr meter is still fabulously (almost) accurate everytime i call on it) but yeah, i really enjoyed this presentation of what i consider the world's finest instrument for the creation of photographic art (not mine mind you) while it may not be for everyone (yeah i know, right) but for a "photographer" it most certainly is

what goggles are those?
@ALAHOME3 жыл бұрын
The goggle will drop the beautiful performance of the M3 viewfinder you love. And the goggle itself is very hard to CLA. That's why most of people still prefer the non-goggle version. Except the performance decreasing of viewfinder, the goggle version looks great on M3 but if you are using it on other mirror-less camera, it looks so odd. Just 2 cents.

Yes, Exactly The goggle will drop M3 viewfinder a little darker.
