Steveo, with about 2,500 hrs under my belt, not as a pilot, but as a USAF navigator, and nearing a couple hundred as an instrument-rated private pilot, I find your videos to be just about best out here on KZbin. Relaxed, but focused and attentive, on top of your game, even in busy airspace like Orlando. Keep up the great work, never get complacent, stay safe, and keep showing us how it's done!

Sometimes it works out. I never went the pilot route because of self-confidence issues, and we never had KZbin to show us what the job was ‘really like’. Two years ago I was considering leaving my job to go into ATC training. Now COVID has many of them furloughed! Dodged that bullet...

ORL executive is my hometown airport. I learned to fly there in 1967 and hangered a C310 there for a few years. Coyotes are a fixture there. They have been there for years and in the winter are often seen relaxing (and enjoying the heat!) on top of the taxiway marker light holders. And surrounding by lakes, I'm not surprised to see an alligator there!

Gotta tell you, Steveo. Nothing more surreal than a clear sky night flight in the Miami metro area be it OPF, HWO, or TMB. Flying the coastline then transitioning over to the Everglades particularly at night, most everyone asks, "what's down there?" My response? "Alligators and snakes, and we'll be their food if we ever have to land there." It is a perfect sightseeing experience for just about everyone. . .and it never gets old even for the seasoned pilots. I cannot fly a plane (they say you need good vision to fly!!) but I agree flying is relaxing in general. Walking through check in, security and even in the airline lounges it can be stressful but walking down the air bridge there is a sense of relaxation that kicks in which only increases until you are in the air. If I could fly a plane or get someone to take me up in a plane to fly it with them I would jump at the chance.

@@brettboyes3002 Indeed. Super busy airspace, I just take the time to scroll the wheel to select the airspeed on FLC. But I'm not usually that busy and I imagine telling a non-pilot passenger to push the FLC button when the air speed gets down to whatever I'm looking for. Gives them something fun to do.

Chances are that you will get it. It's not unusual that people get into aviation shortly after their retirement from their normal careers. Especially those who find retirement too boring after many years of intense work-related duties. The only thing you need to be aware that studying doesn't go at the same speed compared to young people, but if you count with that in advance, you'll be fine and you will like the learning process too.
