Steveo, with about 2,500 hrs under my belt, not as a pilot, but as a USAF navigator, and nearing a couple hundred as an instrument-rated private pilot, I find your videos to be just about best out here on KZbin. The clearance controller was the first of a few that I have impressed me on how clear she enunciated the clearance! Most rattle off the clearance, but she was very crisp!

Closest I got was 3 flight lessons then 9/11 happened. Never had the chance to finish. Your videos are good reminders of the dreams I had growing up. Keep up the good work and stay safe up there.

Sometimes it works out. I never went the pilot route because of self-confidence issues, and we never had KZbin to show us what the job was ‘really like’. Two years ago I was considering leaving my job to go into ATC training. Now COVID has many of them furloughed! Dodged that bullet...

ORL executive is my hometown airport. I learned to fly there in 1967 and hangered a C310 there for a few years. Coyotes are a fixture there. They have been there for years and in the winter are often seen relaxing (and enjoying the heat!) on top of the taxiway marker light holders. And surrounding by lakes, I'm not surprised to see an alligator there!

I have always loved sunset into night flights- There is a Christmas like feeling with the lights glimmering into the horizon. The cabin lights inside the aircraft remind you it is always special exercising a skill not many can do. We have a HD 4K projector with a big cinema screen and that's the best way to watch your videos. Both the quality of the sound and picture is great. I know this video is about a year old but I still go back in time once in a while to watch them (again). I also sometimes fly your routes in the MSFS simulator on VATSIM. Pilotedge is not available in your area so VATSIM is the second best. Anyway, thanks for sharing your great videos, appreciate it!

I have been a Tech Ops Crew Chief for AA / Envoy for 31 years now and have about 10 hours on a 172 and some SoCal hang gliding time and some Texas Power Parachute time... Gotta tell you, Steveo. Nothing more surreal than a clear sky night flight in the Miami metro area be it OPF, HWO, or TMB. Flying the coastline then transitioning over to the Everglades particularly at night, most everyone asks, "what's down there?" My response? "Alligators and snakes, and we'll be their food if we ever have to land there." It is a perfect sightseeing experience for just about everyone. . .and it never gets old even for the seasoned pilots. Thanks.

I cannot fly a plane (they say you need good vision to fly!!) but I agree flying is relaxing in general. Walking through check in, security and even in the airline lounges it can be stressful but walking down the air bridge there is a sense of relaxation that kicks in which only increases until you are in the air. If I could fly a plane or get someone to take me up in a plane to fly it with them I would jump at the chance.

You have to be very sure on getting back to it to the VS to switch over. If you are real busy with aviate- navigate- communicate it may be safer to do FLC on climb as you don’t want to add recover from stall to your workload. This flight was very relaxed and he had tile . Great video.

But I'm not usually that busy and I imagine telling a non-pilot passenger to push the FLC button when the air speed gets down to whatever I'm looking for. Gives them something fun to do.

The most challenging thing is following the turbohyperspeed speech between ATC and you-but I’m getting there. Actually, that’s the 2nd hardest; 1st is remembering it. Thanks for a great video.

I did part of my IFR Checkride in to Orlando Exec - Broke out at 820' on the VOR approach, with the MDA being 800' - this was in 2002 so things I am sure have changed.

Chances are that you will get it. It's not unusual that people get into aviation shortly after their retirement from their normal careers. Especially those who find retirement too boring after many years of intense work-related duties. The only thing you need to be aware that studying doesn't go at the same speed compared to young people, but if you count with that in advance, you'll be fine and you will like the learning process too.
