Boy was that familiar!!! I flew a King Air 350 in Mexico for a couple of decades out of California, for a part 91 outfit. I always had a feeling of impending doom getting ready to copy down a clearance at an unfamiliar airport. Unlike the USA, in Mexico what you file and what you get are very often two entirely different things. Even the route you get on your Mexican flight plan paperwork from their own ATC can be vasty different from the clearance given.

You are such an inspiration Steveo! Your etiquette and formality really accentuate your pilot your pilot authority and demeanor. You talk through every action, as you would with a co-pilot, and make your every action aware and deliberate. Your feedback is invaluable for any aspiring pilot and aviation enthusiast! Keep up the good work mate, we are watching with bated breath as to your next adventure!

Hello Steve. I really enjoyed watching your video. I’m a pilot too, based in Cancun, I fly for Volaris. It was nice to see another type of flight operation, in this case general aviation. It was very interesting to watch how you go through all of the flight phases and how different the operation is compared to the airline. It reminded me of the time when I was at flight school. If I hear you on the frequency when you’re in Cancun again, I’ll say hi!

Fun fact: those aviacsa 737-200 at 7:49 have parked there for almost 10 years due to company ceasing operations and having legal disputes, my hometown airport MMHO has 1 one of them parked at a closed runway too.

They will always give you a SID in Mexico. Always look at your charts and see which one makes sense for your routing to know what to expect them to give you so you'll be ready for it. Makes it a lot easier to copy when you have an idea of what they're gonna give you. Upper Juliet is the airway on your chart designated at "UJ". i.e. Upper Juliet 123....

Big and huge fan of your videos, I'm happy you mention about being a commercial pilot, and what the difference between private and commercial. I am very excited about obtaining my pilot license in the near future; starting next year - 2019. Currently in the Trucking industry as a driver and have been in other parts of the transportation industry as a whole; railroad as such. I never thought I would be interested in the Aviation industry such being scared of heights as a young man. But, through time and maturity I learned I love and like to travel. And this would enhance my life and remove all fears. Again, thank you for all of posting of videos. Keep posting.

That’s right. Mexico has J(for Jet) UJ, UA, UL, UR, UT and UQ. BTW, clearance delivery in Mexico is slightly different than in the US, where usually only SID, transition, altitude restrictions and the usual stuff are given. Usually in Mexico clearance covers all the way up to the US airspace limit.
@brianmann016 жыл бұрын
I am about to take my part 107 test for my remote pilot's certificate. Steveo1 has been instrumental in teaching me to understand 1. airspace, 2. understanding sectionals, 3. weather and ATIS, 4. Interacting with ATC and more. (Even though I have yet to meet him in person). Steveo1 is very detailed in describing what he does and so much so you can actually use the sectionals to follow his flight plan while visually seeing the airspace he is flying in and out of. While I hate the name "drone" , that is what I am talking about . If you want to fly "drones" (Uavs) commercially for income, you must understand airspace, reading weather, and how ATC works. More importantly, you MUST be part 107 certified. The industry in the US alone will be a 5.7 billion dollar market in 2020 and 107 billion worldwide. Uavs will one day very soon be operating in and out of airports and is currently a project being worked on by the FAA. Since I am near to Fort Lauderdale and I will be operating my Uav in the same region Steveo1 flies out of, it makes the experience even more relevant. If you want to learn airspace and follow Steveo1's flight plans, head over to Skyvector.com and enrich your knowledge. If you are becoming part 107 certified, or if you are working towards your full scale ticket, Steveo1 and others are like having a personal tutor during your journey. Hit that SUBSCRIBE button and smash the like button. Thank you Steveo1 for your great videos and your love for flying, you are doing perhaps more good then you may realize.

Although ForeFlight and other enhancements to flight, it's so much easier.
