I actually never had an Issue with Bryans vocals but I totally understand when people do. It seems like a lot of their other fans did at first but then grew to love them overtime. I'd definitely recommend their last EP "A Tear in the Fabric of Life". Its only about 20 mins with a cool animated film to go with it. It's an awesome journey. Slightly different mix wise and overall sound aswell. Definitely worth a go in the future.

i feel like bryan's vocals, to some degree for some people, are very much the kind of thing that is like a) possibly the worst single introduction to any kind of hardcore or metal harsh vocal OR b) if you're already attuned, a specific niche thing that if you're into that niche is absolutely perfect, the epitome or you're just used to all sorts of harsh vocals and don't really care too much either way but bryan in particular reminds me of like comeback kid, etc that very particular like super high pitched, slightly whiny but not really, but still a lot of power and force and leadership kind of specific to hardcore kind of vocal

Bryan's vocals grew on me over time, and now KL is one of my favorites. It helped to latch onto one song that I really enjoyed until I was left wanting more, now I can't get enough!

As always, Steve, it's good to see you, and I hope you're well 8^) I came into this album as someone who straight up dislikes hardcore. This will probably be my AotY. Never even heard KL before this.

Sit & Mourn is my favourite song off this album aside from all the singles which are bangers. I love the use of delay and reverb on the guitars in this song you can feel the emotion mixed in with the heavy breakdown chugs in the end. So good!
@umiranvnutriev31384 ай бұрын
There was a moment, while performing Sit and mourn live Bryan took a guitar right before the breakdown, he just screamed MAKE SOME FUCKING NOISE and started chugging along, that was soooo wholesome

I watched that through a fan recording!! Yess it was EPIC seeing and hearing Bryan join in on the guitars for that outro🙌🏼🙌🏼

On the subject of the other vocalists, Bryan Garris as you know is lead, Isaac Hale does guitar and the low vocals, Nicko Calderon does guitar and the more Bryan-adjacent vocals

I was mixed on this album for a while until I started paying attention to the lyrics and the stuff happening in the background. I was not a fan of the production when it first came out but it has grown on me. The first few listens were a bit head scratching. Focusing on the lyrics really made the album seem more focused and I really appreciated it for that reason. The vocals are probably my favorite part of the album. I also absolutely love the cymbal work on this album. The drumming in general was fantastic. The last three songs are my favorites I would say.
@coal_914 ай бұрын
How can you not be a fan of the production lmao. It's a big wall of sound, I can't remember the last time I heard something this heavy.
@DoNotLookDown4 ай бұрын
@@coal_91 I'm just not the biggest fan of the distortion on the guitars. I like it a lot more now but it's so scratchy and fuzzy that I have a hard time fully liking the tone. Listening to the opening of Suffocate is my prime example of the guitars sounding so overblown and fuzzy. The explosive sound of the guitars are a little too fake and digital sounding for my liking. The Upon Loss Singles did the explosion sound so much better and natural sounding. It sounds like someone is playing this 200 foot tall guitar and is blasting your door down with palm mute explosions. The new album sounds like a guy on a computer digitally adding in explosion sound effects and fizzyness to make the guitars seem heavier than they actually are. The album feels slightly overproduced for me.

The vocals had to grow on me too. They definitely never will be something you can just casually listen to, but then again that's exactly what Knocked Loose are going for with their music: anguish and discomfort. Great reaction as usual!

First time hearing knocked loose, maybe except for some IG reels.. i see why you don't like their vocals. Seems monotonous to me. Dont reach for me seems to be the best so far.. Haven't finished the vid yet tho. Lol Or the calm that keeps you awake..the extension reminds me of the ending of Davidian Or the last song's outro 🖤
