I think it’s important to know that bidding styles can be more different among windows cleaners then window cleaning technique. Do your research for your area as well, it will take time to organize an efficient way for you to do bids.

When I started window washing 6 years ago I was in high school and was taught by my father who washed when he was in high school and college. He taught me $2 per pane outside and inside 😂. I was busy everyday for the summer just from referrals and realized a couple summers later how cheap I was lol

Something I've only run into a few times is that customer that calls you out to give an estimate three or four times over the years, but doesn't go with you. One, I told them I will not serve them at all. Another, when she had me come out for the third estimate, I noticed that every single window was scratched so severely, you could see the scratches through the heavy dirt from over 100 ft away. She probably saved $100 on the last window "washer." I bumped the price way up and put in writing that the windows have preexisting severe scratches. I also let her know that sometimes it costs a lot more to save a dollar. 🤷♂️ and told her that this will be the last time I offer her a free estimate. Thing was, I cleaned her neighbors windows 3-4 times a year and they were extremely pleased with my work and let her know. Sometimes you can't fix stupid; but you can charge for it.

For sure!!! I felt like a loser in the beginning when I would waste my time doing estimate for no work. When I had this first happen to me what a feeling of accomplishment knowing all the hours I spent learning back when KZbin videos where just wagtail guys cutting channel ends ABC talking about proper technique using the unger squeegee on a stationary piece of glass.

@obadahmed7638 I personally made sure I had my business license, insurance, company name, brand/logo, shirts, business cards, brochures, and top of the line traditional and water fed equipment before starting my first job. When I posted this comment, I actually didn't get the bid because of how unprofessional I did it. Walked in with my dirty work clothes on and handed him a bid written on the back of a piece of paper... Pretty embarrassing when I think about it. So I did some more research on how to present myself, binge watched/listened to WCR nation with Jersey, and have been following SteveOs techniques since. As an industrial/commercial electrician who's constantly surrounded by hectic environments, I very much appreciate my downtime cleaning windows as a side gig. And I love how little overhead it requires to get started when on a budget. Yet has a great selection of top of the line tools for dudes like me, and believe me when I say I love expensive tools. Good luck out there man, the window cleaning community is one of the best out there. Hope that answers your question and more. 🇺🇸💪💯🪟⚡️

Bro!! Your in Colorado too! Im in springs and launched my window cleaning business in 2021. It came after a decade of seeing my grandpa and aunts window cleaning success. My grandpa actually still runs his part time back home in South Dakota after nearly 30 years. Your perspective has helped me tremendously you nailed it at the end of the video! It is s luxury service and they sre obviiusly calling us bc they dont want to get up on a ladder. Ive been getting frustrated lately on a few bids. That I felt were fair. Im usually liw end $5 - $15/pane high end. Again this helped pick up my spirits a bit. Ive gotten the either verbal or non verbal overall "Wow your high priced response." As you said its a luxury service. Im slowly learning my worth. Although I still negotiate and do come down. Im Getting better though, Thanks again.

And I was shown there invoice.... when I figure my price I add to my final total I give customer bc I'm the best around my area. The estimate I didn't win 3yrs ago have called me to clean their windows and well that estimate is not correct I give my price I value my time why I'm still going 7yrs later

I used to price windows individually but over the years can walk around around a house and get a good idea of time to do it. I bid shooting for $40-50 hour. I also charge a full day even if I may be there 2/3 of a day. It is a luxury service, if you are really detailed and have pride, the customers will love you no matter price point. Great advice, bidding correctly takes time!! There’s days I walk away from a job thinking that was an awesome bid and there’s other days not so much. We have two different individuals in the town we service that charge 1/2 what we do if not less and it’s taken it’s toll on the commercial market, not quite as bad on residential!! It’s Frustrating when you bid a place and they say the other guy was half.....ok then why did you call us for a bid🤔🤷🏼♂️

Yea, a large town that I service has some of the lowest bidding companies around, I have recently been working there more with the new company. And I find that my bids in that town are taken as an insult lol Did a huge bid a couple weeks ago, same prices if I have used before, I even thought I underbid it and was worried about getting it and the guy said he would not accept an amount that high for a window cleaning service lol

Worst thing you can do is go broke while working hard, Make sure you're getting payed what the job is worth and be ready to walk away when someone else tries to tell you that your price is too high. Thanks for the continued content, Steve! I remember my first big job was a 2 story with 6 huge windows in the rear walk out. I WFP'd the exterior but when I came inside I was greeted by wooden mutton's on the outside of the glass. They were held in place by small clips and clipped off like one big tic-tac-toe frame. Not fun to remove/install when you're on a ladder 20 feet up working hands free. I believe they were Eagle brand windows. Beware!

Never heard of so many different services for window cleaning Jacksonville Florida here we wash windows clean the tracks out with a toothbrush and a shop vac and clean the screens by hand all for $2.25 a pain and for track and screen. Big windows and sliding glass doors are $5 each side. French windows are $8 each side for doors. sounds like you guys are making a killing wherever you’re at good for you guys. Florida is a very diluted market though. Good luck guys. Ps just in case anybody’s wondering it does not matter how high the window is up. the price is always the same. In and outside side of one window for residential is generally $9 a window. There is no right and wrong for prices everybody does their own thing. Good luck guys

Thanks for your response Vcash97 been cleaning windows for 35 years I'd like to share this with you. To get around that, explain a window bid for windows, screens and light clean (( Meaning towel it makes it look ok )) If they want a brand new perfectly clean track that's ok to expect if it's dust and the windows have been serviced on a yearly basis. Most people will say that's cool etc.. no big deal just make things lok nice. Now there are people who've ((NEVER EVER)) Had a track cleaned, and they have mold, dirt, I had a guy who had a tree growing in a window track after I took the curtain and showed him he was shocked. So they are looking for the 1 person who will actually clean nasty tracks because the cleaning maid's janitorial cleaners won't, other window cleaners won't, so they are stuck! NOTE

Best of luck expanding your clientele. It really helps if you live in a area that has a older population and some affluent areas as well. Business cards are nice, but a solid website will pay off multiples over time. Paying for a google ad really helped me get off the ground in the beginning and once I had reviews, etc. the calls just keep coming. Do good work and don’t forget to look at the finished window from across the room as you walk out. You will see streaks, etc from a distance and the customer will as well.

Seems pretty simple to me but on average I charge $4-$5 per pane each side so $8-$10 for in/out

When you say, for example "$20 inside and out" does that mean altogether it will be $20, or does that mean for each side it will be $20?

First time clean cost verse quarterly clean cost? Add % first time clean? +20%? 30%?? What time length of last time cleaned would you then say it’s a first time clean? Over eight months? Over ten months? You mention pricing for cleaning in and out, what about price would you say just one side? 40% less? 50% less?

Hey! I think I recognize the “jetsons” home you showed. Is that the one on I-70 just outside of Idaho Springs?

When your talking 5 to $7 a window are you talking one side? I do mostly residential I been charging $15 both sides big panels or big windows count as two windows. $3 a screen. Minimum track cleaning. Paint scraping extra $5 per window needed

I am talking inside and out but I have risen prices since this video too. Typical double hung with deep clean of track and screen cleaned is $24
