An antique dealer here in Maine used to sell vacuums door to door. He didn't give a crap if he sold a vacuum, but he would go clean a rug for them to create good will, then mention that he also dealt in antiques, and ask if they had any older items they'd like to sell. Naturally he targeted older people who lived in old houses. One time he spent a few hundred on a huge lot of paper items, and a friend of mine and I pushed the stuff through Ebay for him. He made at least 30k on that one deal after fees and paying us. Of course he had lots of quality items like halloween postcards, and some excellent real photo postcards (including one of Ty Cobb) lots of great advertising (we sold a Robin Hood Ammunition envelope for $1000 and it made the cover of Linn's Stamp News.) Point is, the stuff IS out there, though there are many places in the country where you can't make cold calls. Doesn't mean you couldn't, say, go mingle at a BINGO game and make some connections.

I am going to love selling toys after I go through all these random unsorted gallon size bags (which I love, like looking for treasure) that have now turn into tubs full of toys. I love going through the toys and trying to figure out where they go, if they are a part of a set, or if its random dollar store pieces. I bought your TOP SECRET TOY book and it was so illustrated and detailed on what marks to look for that I would be at thrift stores for hours staring at bags. I buy 3 or 4 bags every day. Its going to take a long time to organize it all, but at least I know what I am looking for now. The whole process also opens your eyes to all the millions of toys out there. I started Ebay selling vintage transformers and dungeons and dragons figures, and micronauts, my childhood toys. I had no idea, until you both started, these videos that people were buying recent year toys every day. It does not have to be vintage! It does not have to be a current rare movie trend or mistake! Its just a matter of finding and organizing them. This has opened up a new door for me, one that is going to be much much more enjoyable then running around looking for vintage stuff or spending hours in my other niche vintage war games. The more I do it, the easier it will be, and nearly impossible without you sharing your knowledge, and Thank you so much for making the Top secret toy Guide! And thank you both for making this video series!! Edit: I forgot to add that during this week long process, I found and sold stuff out of the bags (because I have to look everything up, I can't just toss something just because I know better now) I sold a beat up hot wheel for $60 bucks, that sold in less then an hour, and I sold another single hot wheel for $30, and I batched about 50 hot wheels together and sold for $20. That is exactly how you learned as you said in the video. I have not even started listing the stuff I found so far this guide yet! I am excited!

Hows it going now bro? Yes those big bags Vinny had looked promising but now savers stepped up their game & bags are half that size & overpriced. All 3.99 4.99 and up. 2 or 3 toys each bag. Slim pickins no dinero. Im trying to sell books on ebay but its so sloow havent sold one yet. I think i might be too late to the party...only places left are goodwill & Salvation.
@dalefrench1924 жыл бұрын
@@nalveyna Thrift stores and places like that are catching on. I used to work at American Thrift in Alabama and the stuff thats coming through now, I think has already been cherry picked. There is a ton of stuff still out there, we just need to find out what it is, because Ebay is booming bigger then ever. If I find anything that I know I can profit on, I will pay more for the big bag.

That's a scary thing to do. You want to focus on the cream. Do you really want 100 bad brands floating around in your head that you might not remember are bad, so you buy them because it was mentioned in a KZbin video? Yeah, with some fields you want a general idea of what not to buy (books, for instance.) But generally I'd say don't put a brand in your head unless it's good.

@jackdoodles5 жыл бұрын
Kathryn Haugrud I just type the letters, numbers or whatever that is printed on the bottom of the toy into eBay search and find other listings for them and the show is in the title.
@Raikenprofit5 жыл бұрын
You can always use the letters and numbers pri Ted on the toys, some of them even have what company they are from or what show. If not, you can look up general things like "blue cartoon character with large eyes etc." And look at photos on Google until you find the right one. This may take a while at first, but it could help you get familiar with different ones at the same time👍🏻

Although I already bought toy bags before these videos, I have become overzealous since watching and have bought way too bags with McDonalds toys thinking they were real action heroes or Barbies, or or....some of the McD toys are really good quality. Plus I can’t see well enough in the thrift store light to read the tiny writing and I’m usually running in at the last minute before close so not much time... soooo, I have decided to familiarize myself with the McD and other fast food toys for the last several years so I don’t buy them. Yes, there are exceptions and a few sell well, but those are not the ones I have been fooled by.... I’m hip to those damn Madame Alexander ones now....they are very well made and really look like something good....🤨
