Not many people like to paint. I'm not crazy about the job either. But it sure does make a huge difference. Your place is looking good Steve. Nice t-shirt too.

Looking good! I'm too cheap to just take a bucket of paint and throw it on, so the roller approach works for me! Maybe I'm just old fashioned, but if there are any bare spots or stains I think might cause problems I will buy a bit of primer to hit those before I paint the top coat. If it is just a spot or two a spray can primer like 1*2*3 works well but if I need more than that I'll buy a gallon and have them tint it toward the top color. I've not had good luck with the "primer built in" paint durability.

Nice looking paint job. That looks much better! It's a curious building for a cabin, though. What's the history of the place? Was the cabin some sort of farm building? Or something else? Maybe it was northern Ontario's first Jail? It would seem to be a lot of work-- and different-- to haul concrete blocks into the woods to make a cabin. You've got me guessing. Take care, Steve...another great video!!!

@EverydayProjects Thanks Craig. Back in the 60's , transcanada pipeline project. The owner of my camp at the time decided to redirect some block , I still have a 1/2 skid extra . The excavator, motar and redirected masons and framers from TCP build it all just because:)

Hey, that looks so much better now, Steve. I need to paint the outside of the basement at the project house before the inspection but we need to fix some holes and cracks first. The house is on the hill so big part of the basement is above the ground. Good job, Buddy. So, why is there a door up there ? What was it for ?
@SteveRobReviews
@SteveRobReviews 2 ай бұрын
@PaiviProject Thanks Paivi , the door was for storage , it's got to go , big plans for next year. For block holes and cracks I found using a concrete caulking tube from home depot works great and much better than mixing motor.

@@SteveRobReviews Okay, so was there some kind of stairs going up there or you just have to take giant jump ? :) Looking forward seeing your big plans. I didn't know there was a such thing than concrete caulking tube. That could get real handy filling the cracks. Thanks for the tip, Steve :)

@@SteveRobReviews Tell me about it. After all the devastation I suffered here at the lake from Fiona my assessment went up 75%. And I was the only one on the lake that got hot like that. I appealed and was told my appeal was denied. I never even talked to anyone at the tax office, they just decided I guess. Grrr... But what can ya do. I contacted the 'tribunal' a group of folks supposedly non partisan, and they told me the assessment stands.

@GrampiesWorkshop Mike all townships are hurting as the province does not top up for services like years back. Townships have not had an increase in decades , their stuck at 12% of total taxes sent as 88% is sent to the province. My assessment has gone thru the roof as well . I figure if things keeps going up every year the same I'll have to sell the camp in ten years just to keep up .
