Absolutely great video. It was a struggle but you got it done. When tackling something tough my old friend used to say, we don’t ask it we tell it. One advantage to an old friction crane is no hydraulic hoses to blow. As to 100 tractors, without dreams nothing would get done and you’ll never get over it. As for a collaboration dare I say I’d love to see that in person. Keep up the great work!👍
@stevesplacedownunder9 ай бұрын
Thanks Geoffrey. It was a struggle yes. More than I would have liked for the time that I had. The only crane here without hoses is the one you helped start up out the front. The old white super power but that’s a long way of being used. I doubt I will ever get to 100 but it’s still a goal and something to talk about on the channel. Hopefully we can organise the collaboration mate. Will take a bit of organising

@@stevesplacedownunder not at all. It was out classed by the more popular 1113 and later 1517 Mercedes bullnoses. Best it had going was the commonality of parts it had. The 354 perkins/ADE was local built same for some other IH equipment of that era. And it was fairly cheaper than the bullnoses if I recall. But that's where it's glory ends. I don't recall if South Africa would also have had a production line for the acco. I think it's importing may have been canceled in favor for the locally produced oshkosh E series and Mercedes bullnose. Later followed by SAMAG 70s for that class of trucks.

Well Steve, without getting a soap box out (but damn it's tempting), i will try to answer. It's like a car, or a truck, or a what ever show, why do i pay to walk around and look? In most cases all the money goes to the promoters etc and nothing to those who provide the reason why I go. KZbin etc changes that, the money goes where i want it to go, toward the things i like and those who make it possible for them to still be there. I could fill up the message board with reasons and examples, but I feel you already know them,. Chip in for a few hoses etc toward something I like, bloody right mate!
