Nice Improvements!! And the dust cover was a great idea. The shadowbox really makes the layout pop. Well Done.

I don't say I agree on everything you did on that shelf layout but for the most part and concept, I like what you did for such a small space used to make it.

Great little layout! The shadow box really completes it!

Yeah I like it a lot better this way.

Lovely work as always, Steve. An amazing layout you have created. Certainly gives me far more inspiration to create my own shunting or switching layouts. The card system is very enticing and gives operational interest throughout. Looking forward to more future layouts you have planned. Take care and keep well. Regards Caleb

Wow , man , Steve ... That *almost* inspires me to get back on my 16x96 shelf switcher i've been toying with for the last 22yrs ... BUT haste makes waste, and after all , ℹ ain't *lazy RRR* for nothing !

Fantastic job as always Steve. Love the detail and finishing touches you add to complete it. Look forward to all you future videos. Stay well. and Happy Thanksgiving next week.

I am just finding your videos now, and catching up on the back catalog. In the future I would recommend looking for RGBW light strips versus RGB. W is a dedicated White LED and will help with that blue light cast.

Not sure. It isn’t that heavy. Less than 50 lbs I would guess.

Looks great Steve! Do you have any problems with reflection of the individual LEDs? Cheers! Stay safe.
@StevesTrains4 жыл бұрын
What do you mean by reflection of the LEDs?
@Maurice00PA4 жыл бұрын
@@StevesTrains Mainly on the railheads, some people have reported that the individual LEDs give a strange reflection since there is no diffuser.
@StevesTrains4 жыл бұрын
Ah, that makes sense. I haven't noticed it, but probably will now! all of the LED lights are right up against the front edge of the layout top, and the track is mostly located towards the middle of the layout, so most of the reflected light will probably be bounced towards the back of the layout. One of the LED strips is actually on the inside of the front trim piece and pointed towards the backdrop, so that one won't cause any issues. The entire strip of LED lights is coated in a thick clear plastic/rubber which may help to diffuse things a bit as well, not sure. Anyway, I'll have to see if I notice reflections from the lights off the rails going forward.

@@StevesTrains Maybe it depends on the viewing angle?

Very likely will strongly depend on the viewing angle.

What is your preferred track for any of your amazing projects?

I used code 70 micro engineering on the HO switching layout, though I used Peco code 83 on a previous HO layout and that is easier to use and more durable. There is also a huge variety of Peco code 83 track components, with all types of different turnouts, included curved turnouts. I usually use Kato Unitrack on my small n scale layouts since it is super durable but have used Atlas and Peco code 55 track. The Atlas looks better but is somewhat frustrating since it is really delicate, whereas the Peco track is really code 80 buried deeper in the ties and is much more durable, so I like to use that if I'm not using the Kato track. There is a huge variety of Peco code 80 track, and so I've used that at times too if I want a certain type of turnout or whatever.
