And I think I know why: he is very sensitive with the talk show hosts and only slowly tries to bring them near the animals. This Jeff guy is really annoying. He never knows when to back off. As you can see in this video. Steve even TELLS him not to come towards him - and what does he do? He continues. It's painful to see that he repeatedly gets up and aims toward Steve, very obviously being uncomfortable for Steve.
