Thanks for the video! Last week I won a free copy of The NIV Chronological Study Bible. Today, the Bible arrived in the mail. Your video was very helpful. I am certain I will be viewing it again.

***(EDIT and UPDATE) *** After starting to go through this text (in much more detail)...and specifically the notes , related to the text I have noticed there the notes and commentary is EXTREMELY LIBERAL in nature. I still believe the chronology and arrangement/layout is great for a new or different way to interact with the text...but I would advise using extreme caution when relying on the notes before doing additional research

Thanks for this info. I'm wondering if all the chronological bibles in the various translations will have the liberal stuff. One in the ESV is supposed to be coming out. But if it has liberal notes, I don't want it. Edited typos 😊

I hadn’t heard about the ESV. It tends to be pretty reformed in nature so that would surprise me.

Seems like it has great bits of archeological and cultural boxes along the way does it also have heb/grk Word studies along the way ?
@ClaimingChristianity Жыл бұрын
Yeah…Not super “in depth” word studies…but you definitely get some along the way. It’s a really decent tool.

I have this Chronological Study Bible (NIV) as well as the Chronological Life Application Study Bible (NLT). After just skimming through them both, I thought I was going to really enjoy this one better, but then I dived into the other one, and I'm really loving the Chronological Life Application (NLT) Version. It's awesome! I've even gotten so into it that I can use it at a Bible Study and flip right to a particular passage using the Scripture Index. I probably can do the same with this one. It just happens to be in the back of the Bible while in the other one it is in the front. But once you get use to it, it is easy to find a particular verse. Thanks for this great Review! 🤓🌺

I JUST purchased the NLT Chronological Bible last week after watching your video from a couple years ago. You are killing me, man! Haha! 😂 I can only buy 2-3 Bibles a year and I’m already at 2 in the month of January alone (NLT chronological and the NIV parallel contemporary comparative) although I got good deals on both of them. Great review as always! Another one for the wishlist. 👍

Just got this in the mail recently- don't like NIV but NASB does not have a chronological Bible. Anyway, my question is: as I read the Preface, (# xxi), far RH column on RH page says I can look at the Table of Weights & Mesures. Nowhere can I find this. On pg. 1,451, (which I think is REALLY NEAT), for the Cultural and Historical Topics, I simply cannot find the category for Table of Weights & Measures. Can you please help me with this? Thank you. I plan to be careful NOT to look closely at the commentary for truth since it leans in a liberal way. Thank you. God bless your KZbin ministry. -Carol

Page 2275. It directly follows an almost all blue page in the back that says “study helps”. After the last page of Revelation. Thank you for the encouragement and blessings!! Soli Deo Gloria

I would be very interested to hear your review of this study Bible after you finish with it. Did you actually find it as helpful as you thought you would? Were there as many helps as you expected?

I’m hoping to really start to read “every page” at the end of this month and I’ll for sure of a follow up review. Thanks for the interest.

I recently got this Bible in the NKJV translation. The epoch arrangement gives a good chronological arrangement and the transition notes are interesting and helpful. I can recommend to Christian friends to read through the Bible chronologically once in their life. But I would not recommend that a chronological Bible be your only or primary study Bible. Also, there is a somewhat theologically liberal slant to a number of the notes and articles, although I have not read them all. For example, in the introduction to Epoch One, it introduces the secular archaeologist periods beginning 26,000 BC - old Stone Age, middle Stone Age, New Stone Age, copper-Stone age, and early Bronze Age. (Capitalization supplied by my computer) And, the first time capsule shows this time line. I have noticed other articles with a liberal slant. I am a little surprised by this coming from Thomas Nelson. I would be interested in your thoughts on this as well as the thoughts of others.

Great comments. I admittedly have not read through the whole thing yet but I’ll take a look at the notes in Genesis. If you follow the channel I’m sure you know I believe the Bible is pretty clear in creation which would put “the begining” around 6,000 BC give or take. So now you’ve peaked my interest!

@@ClaimingChristianity The more commentary articles I read, the more concerned I am becoming about the leaning of several of them. I am also a young earth creationist. Our earth and our universe appears to be very old because God created completed structures and creatures. Adam and Eve were created young adults. The creator lived among us and instantly created fine aged wine. He made a great storm instantly calm and placid. He raised the dead to life. I encourage you to continue reading the commentary in this Bible, and I hope you will consider a follow-up review.

It's solid. I'm not in love with the NIV translation. But it has a lot of decent study material in it.
