Welcome to the dark side. Bought another project today, '03 XR100. I am really testing the limits of my Wife's patience. Almost bought a brush hog today, but was worried it was too much for my Ford 1920, so now I'm can't stop thinking about this big International project tractor a guy offered me last week for short money......I really need to stop this.

You are correct, that is why I stopped, went back, pulled it open, and installed the missing oring. Happy Thanksgiving!

Hey Steve. I’m about the undertake this task on a 600 2000model. It has a blown camshaft and I suspect it got hot in the head and let go. Do you know if there is a bolt that can be unscrewed to check if oil is flowing to the head? If so, which bolt?

Sorry, I do not know. But I can tell you that I had that happen on a Kawasaki Prairie ATV and the head was ruined because the journals that are the bearing surfaces for the camshaft were ruined. There was metal stuck to the journals on the camshaft! Total carnage.

@@stevewatr thanks for the reply. Yeah I had to source a whole new head and rocker arm cover. Piston and cylinder survived though 😊

Unbelievable. There are 2 videos on how to do this. BOTH DON'T SHOW HOW TO PUT THE FRONT CHAIN GUIDE. BOTH SHUT OFF THE CAMERA, DO IT, THEN TURN THE CAMERA ON,
