I wish this would’ve happened to my ex husband. I was 14 and he was 24. I got pregnant at 15, married at 16. I was a dumb kid who thought I was “mature for my age”. And while I was, because I had to grow up long before I should’ve due to my parents bad decisions, I wasn’t THAT mature and grown. Because he was an abuser and definitely groomed me. A child is a child no matter what kind of intelligence you have. You learn multiplication and division in the 3rd grade; so advanced in one grade level makes you an adult? I had a reading level of a college student in the 7th grade, which is 12 years old; that doesn't mean I'm emotionally and mentally ready for sex. I have a problem with this way of thinking with her being an adult. Her mother should have protected her; but with this thinking, she's ready to continue that cycle

You can not protect people from making their own decisions. When I was in the 7th grade I was having sex with my girlfriend who was also in the 7th grade and we have zero regrets. It was experience for us. I don't think that anyone can decide whether or not you're ready for sex. In this case, I think the government is wrong. This young lady is not a victim. They are making her a victim. They government should not be taking her kids away because they don't like her decision to stay with her husband.

This is just an all around sad thing. If my daughter told me at 12 or 14 shes pregnant by a grown man I know he would come up missing and I'd gladly be in jail. I feel bad that her mom failed her and the court shouldn't have allowed them to get married. I couldn't imagine losing 5 babies to the system and then having more just to be a "parent". Idk why they lost all of their kids but its sad to think they all grew up without parents. I dont get how them moving gets him off the s.o register tho. They need to make it universal across the country to protect ALL CHILDREN. but hopefully their life gets better in some type of way

I met my partner when he was 24 and I was freshly 20. If I had met him when he was 18 and I was 13 it would have been a HUGE ISSUE. Actually not a huge issue, but I just wouldnt have been able to see him. My parents were neglectful and not great - but at least I know at age 13 I would have never been allowed to date. Period. The parents failed her, made her grow up too fast and treated her like a friend rather than a daughter. Thats how someone like her grows up to have 4 kids and married before shes even 18 years old herself. I wonder what she would think in 13 years when her own kid decides to date a 22 year old.
