I’ve got a hard time feeling bad for girls like this. Too many times we hear about children who’ve been abused because of their mothers lack of self respect and desperation for a man. I dated an abuser and left after 3 years. So it’s not like I don’t know. But I had to find what motivates me to stay alive. YES! At 22, I married into a *Mormon CULT.* I got out soon after because I saw the way the children were treated. I’d been like a robot, but it broke down my programming. I couldn’t put my future babies in harm’s way. I stole my phone back, called my brother, left my stuff behind, & escaped. It wasn’t easy, & I couldn’t eat or sleep for days, but eventually my brother’s kindness healed me. Everyone is different. I try not to judge people who stay even when their kids are in danger. Both women were most likely abused by a male figure in their life either early on or into their teenage years. That's all they know and that's what they'll choose for the rest of their life. It's sad because her children will think that behavior is OK too. It's a neverending cycle. Steve could talk to her tell her ears fell off and say the only person that's going to make the change is you, but in reality, she's never going to, that's just how it is. That guy probably grew up seeing his father or another male "role model" abuse a female in his life and that's why he thinks it's OK. He's learned to be manipulative and to play on her emotions. I was in this exact situation many years ago. It's not easy. They widdle you down, piece by piece. This isn't something that happens over night. They convince you that you're worthless and they're the ONLY ONE who will "love" you. As a single father, what's really pissing me off, is that girl smirk the whole time. She's a victim of physical abuse, but she's fighting to bring this man back into her children's lives, she's up there laughing like she thinks it's funny, she's protecting this man, she's allowing this man to hit her one year old child, she is literally just as scummy as him. I hope whoever her child's father is gets custody, and takes the kid, and lets the two of those scumbags have each other.
