Also it always depends on who the person is that conducts the lie detector how inaccurate they are. Some are as accurate as 98%, coupled with other evidence they are pretty useful. You do know that the test doesn't solely rely on the machine, but on the professional's behavioural observations plus the machine, right? If you have some cop do it, yes it's unreliable as he's a cop and not a trained forensic psychologist. You just can't make a blanket statement.
