Her early influences were The Everly bro., Supremes, Beach Boys...well that explains how she got so good at HARMONIES. I’ve always said she’s one of the best there is at harmonies, whether in Fleetwood Mac or the legendary duets she’s done with Tom Petty and Don Henley. She has a natural, innate ability to harmonize and that is a very rare and special musical gift.

Interviewer: “And perhaps Whitney Houston in the future” Stevie: “Yes, but I’m so much older than they are” Wow. This honestly made me incredibly sad. How time did tell who would last into her 70’s and who would be gone to soon with a career that stalled in favor of drugs. Stevie got clean just a year or two before this interview. Thank God. Or she would be gone now too no doubt. I’m seeing Fleetwood Mac tonight in Philly. One of my all time favorite bands, and I love Stevie and Christine in particular. But now, in 2019, one can only wish to still be able to hear Whitney Houston sing live again. And the incredible Tom Petty, who Stevie did beautiful duets with and who was a true American singer/songwriter and a legend, is also gone. Because of prescription drugs. The legend that is the Purple One, the one and only Prince, gone because of prescription drugs. Stupid, needless death. We’ve lost so many, but Stevie is still with us. And I can’t wait to see her live tonight. And maybe those who have passed will be watching too. ❤️

I agree with you Stevie, I am a self a taught guitarist of 30 years, and I never made much progress beyond playing some "Cowboy chords" to accompany my singing when I wanted to be Wes Montgomery or Jimmy Page. Due to an illness I've lost all of my guitars, but to scratch my musical itch, I have found an electronic piano that I put in my room at the rehabilitation center. I wake up everyday before breakfast and play for at least 30 minutes. I am learning the ragtime tune "The Entertainer" now, and am happy with my progress. 😊

That's really wonderful that you are doing that. I understand the environment and situation. Last year I was suddenly very ill, something went haywire in my gut and I was airlifted to a trauma center of a hospital and a team of surgeons worked on me all night....stomach, colon, lung and I was in ICU for 3 weeks, none of the surgeons, doctors or nurses thought I would survive, it was a miracle....septic shock, on ventilator, the whole nine yards, multiple surgeries. Eventually I was transported to a "Post Acute Medical" place, was there a month, then transported to another place for 3 weeks. Due to Covid quarantine, since I was not and would not get vaccinated, I was not allowed to leave my room for the first 2 weeks. And as you have probably experienced, these places are understaffed and it's challenging to be attended to much once you are moved from a hospital. I had some beautiful realizations about life in the midst of the trauma. I hope you are recovering nicely ^_^

Oh, I inherited my dad's Fender acoustic guitar, early model # as he made it to 83, passed away in 2011 and he had it since he was around 30, so it's quite valuable. I considered selling it at one point, but something told me, God will bring a man into my life who will play that guitar, hold onto it. You know, if you are over 65, Medicare should pay for almost everything, and along with social security, you may also qualify for SSI in addition, plus food stamps and Medicaid, which pays your Part B of Medicare. And you can still qualify even if you have a house as a primary residence.

I am so glad to know that you are doing well. I am an epileptic who suffered a grand mal seizure while raking leaves in Nov. 2018. I saw a bright white light, as every muscle in my body contracted at once. When I went down, my head struck my driveway from 5'8" up. Luckily my neighbor saw me and called paramedics. I underwent six (6) brain surgeries as the pooling blood was pushing down on my brainstem, which controls respiration. The lovely actress Natasha Richardson would still be with us if they had performed a craniotomy on her. I suffered a stroke during my 2nd brain surgery, that left me with paralysis in my arm and leg. I have never been a TV watcher, so I have spent the past four (4) years playing my electronic keyboard and studying the Bible. I used to only pray to God when I wanted something. My illness has taught me many things. One important thing is Gratitude. I HAVE to be grateful for the small things everyday, because tomorrow is NOT guarunteed . Peace, Benjamin 🤗

@@dianeseymour6189 She wrote all of her song's about him on the Say You Will Album and told him. Listen to them and watch the documentary they made while recording. He has always loved her and they were getting back together during the 97 tour when his then gf/ wife announced her pregnancy. I heard that, any way.

She is still stuck on Lindsay. She smiles whenever she says his name. She regrets to this day that she and him broke up and she can't let go. The fact that he is happy and has a family kills her. I love her!

Ca Ago , if you have seen any interviews with her in the past 15 years you would understand that this is not true. Stevie has matured into a beautiful, independent woman... a true artist in her own rights. Lyndsey has always been with women that look hauntingly like Stevie, he is the one with regrets. He was an asshole to her while she was always so supportive of him.

Good interview. She's somewhat high here. Probably cocaine? But love how she's so open, honest, and in a humorous mood. You can tell she's a little different than in other interviews I've seen of her. Stevie's got a great and giving heart it seems.

It IS cocaine...this was around February of 1986, when she toured (illegally...no tour visa) w/ Tom Petty and Bob Dylan in Australia. This was right around the time she was told by her physician that the hole in her nose had become the size of a dime, and cocaine would kill her if she continued on. It was around this time she started ingesting cocaine, through weed most likely, in other manners to avoid having a brain aneurysm. I've always been under the impression that by October 1985, a month or so before the release of Rock A Little, Stevie was officially starting to go through (like during this interview) withdrawal symptoms from lessening the cocaine (on doctor's orders), leading to her beginning weight gain (its seen in the promo videos for "Talk To Me" and "I Can't Wait")...by the end of The Rock A Little Tour Stevie went from 105 pounds (in early 1985) to 120 pounds (by late Summer 1986 and Red Rocks Live). By Tango In The Night's release, in late Spring 1987, post-rehab, she was 125 pounds, and, officially (unfortunately), taking psychiatrist-prescribed Klonopin on a daily basis. So sad, but she does look good here, visually, vocally, and mentally, in spite of all that's happening to her here.

She may not necessarily "seem" under the influence...but, Stevie admits that she took cocaine every day by this time in her life. Mick Fleetwood said his drug use could also sometimes be hard to see, but he knew he was high. She still looks really good here, and at 37 years old no less! She still looks like she's in her late 20s here.
