Craig Rutter - Stevie appreciated Jimmie. When asked who his influences were, he always included “My big brother, Jimmie”.
@BrandonScottSellner4 жыл бұрын
I totally agree. There has never been a better example of two similar people being totally different individuals. They both had a lot of the same influences but I'm sure they each had a few different ones as well. People have to start realizing that they are two great and completely different guitarists who just so happen to be brothers.

That day was the coolest moment of my life. I also met Lou Ann Barton that day as well. She was a very nice lady, also had the honor of getting a picture with her. Back in the old days of MTV actually being a music TV station (channel), they did a full New Year's Eve broadcast of a show from New Orleans of Stevie Ray Vaughan & Double Trouble. It was done on a riverboat. I don't remember the year - it might have been 1987, but I believe that's what this clip is from. I have it somewhere in a box in the garage on an old VHS tape.

Jimmie is a fuckin master. He plays different speeds, and licks them his brother. His career took a big hit when Stevie died, he was heartbroken and it hurt him. He had left TFT to do the Vaughn Bros and after his death was alone. And I think he's spent a long time remembering Stevie and playing Stevies music, or tributes, and it's made him to many forgettable and untalented. He's neither.
