My favorite thing about Stevie is the fact he clearly takes his music 100% serious, yet isn't afraid to get goofy in his music videos

He reminds me of my brothers. Good hearted guys with serious interests. And yet with a goofy laugh and grin at unexpected moments reduce you to helpless giggles. Love to all Stevia Ray fans out there b safe and happy.

Folks keep commenting on stevie’s drug use. He had been clean and sober for four years at the time of his death. He was putting as much effort into his sobriety as he had with his former approach to life. His drug use stemmed from his turbulent childhood not his career. It took his success to teach him that he could live in a more positive manner. I personally was very happy for Stevie getting sober and he was a better musician due to that change. I was also deeply saddened by his unfortunate accident and death. You all should pray for Jimmie as well, he has to live with this and that is a heavy load to bare. I lost my younger brother and I know exactly what Jimmie deals with daily. Absolutely heart wrenching.

I usually hate covers, but SRV did an amazing job with this. He made the song his own, and listening to it after listening to SW's original doesn't make the former pale in comparison to the latter.

This song is about fear/anxiety(blues). SRV suffered from it for years. When you make all your decisions based on something made up in your mind you suffer, and others around you. The ending part is a message from an experienced person on how to deal with the fear. SRV got better after he surrendered to it and got help. thats when he made this version. For people that feel the same way. This is how I listen/relate to music but I dont see anyone else commenting about it. Am I the idiot? Geniuenly asking.
@PrinceWesterburg4 жыл бұрын
Its called 'paranoid psychosis'. You make your own reality and if you like SRV, then listen to Bill Hicks who said quite accurately that "You are the imagineation of yourself viewed subjectively" Its good to understand reincarnation to really get this. Anyway, the song was written by Steve Wonder with input from Jeff Beck and Jeff basically listed all the things Enginsh people have superstitions about. In England we call then 'Old wives tales'! So, as they say, 'a thousand mile march starts with one step' and it is the hardest but once you realise most all your inibitions in life are in your head, things get much easier and (last quote) as the Samurai say "The only enemy is in your head, kill the enemy within and walk free!" Best of luck, hope this helps.

I think I saw a show in the same tour as @pumpkinaptra2. It was in a hall in Oakland or San Francisco (2 hour drive}, and the amp set on stage was more for Dodger Stadium than any indoor gig. Two pretty bay area bands opened, then the roadie came out and turned the wall of Marshall stacks on and to "patent applied for". What followed was the loudest damn performance I've ever experienced. I would have left, if it was anyone else. He was a guitar God.. Nothing left now but listen to the music.

Stevie Wonder originally wrote this song with Jeff Beck in mind. The original plan was to have Beck (who by then was a member of the supergroup Beck, Bogert & Appice) release his version of the song first, but due to both the delay of BBA's debut album and Berry Gordy's prediction that Wonder's original version of the song would be a bigger hit, Motown then went ahead and released Wonder's version of the song before the BBA version.
