Stevie is so good, that you didn't even notice when he busted one of the guitar strings, while he was playing his solo. He was flawless, in using other strings to hit the notes that he would have played on the string that he busted. He is "the Master."

Stevie is the greatest ever. Even when he was seriously addicted to alcohol and drugs, he never missed a note. There will never be another SRV.

Maybe that's WHY he ''never missed a note.'' Let's not be Puritans here.
@sizzlechestmcmurphy4365 Жыл бұрын
He recorded the album "Live Alive" while at the height of his addictions. They had to use loads of editing in order to get something that sounded coherent. Stevie was a total mess at that point. Booze and drugs didn't help his playing at all.

SRV is great‼️ I have a bunch of his CDs and DVDs and a book about him. Too bad his life was cut short so young and after he had gotten clean and in such an awful way (Helicopter Crash in Wisconsin. His brother, Jimmy, played guitar too. He played with the Fabulous Thunderbirds. And he played occasionally with Stevie too. And isn’t that something how SRV broke a string and didn’t even skip a beat while his guitar was switched up. To me, there was nobody better than Stevie Ray Vaughan!!! Great reaction 👩🏻🏫👏🏻🥰‼️

I have never seen or heard a better guitarist. Even Eric Clapton said "Who is this guy???? and I NEED to meet him today!!!!" And, he did. Eric is a great guitarist, but SRV is King. I was fortunate enough to be able to hear him from his first album, and I own every one to this day. A tear rolled down my cheek the day the helicopter crashed. There will never be another like him.

@murraytomlinson6562 Жыл бұрын
Every guitar player brings something unique to the stage. Clapton is fantastic and has decades of great guitar work. David Gilmour, Eddie Van Halen, Jimmy Page, Gary Moore, and of course Jimi Hendrix. But Stevie brings the emotion and musical connection to the listener that no other was really able to do on a consistent basis. He was a channel. An open vessel that never seemed to be empty. By far, to me anyway, he is the best ever. Try to watch his more Blues type of songs. "Ain't Gone and Given Up On Love" is a personal favorite. The one from the Capital Theater is great. But you can pick most anything by Stevie and walk away amazed at what you just watched.

Stevie was definitely Top Tier without a doubt I don't know if you realized it or not, but when he changed guitars in the middle of the song it's because he broke a string. Like the true professional that he was he never missed a note even when he got his hands on the other guitar. Run it back and watch it again and you'll see the string floating. You asked for another Top Tier player so I'm going to send you this one. Classical Gas [Mason Williams] | Tommy Emmanuel. He does things with a guitar that I've never seen anyone else do. I think you'll really enjoy it. Have a great day!

Thank you for the reaction. You may consider giving "Cold Shot" a listen. Better is very subjective when discussing guitarist. You need to separate them by the genre they are preforming in. In regards to Blues Rock, SRV is one of the best. Personally I am very fond of Robin Trower in this genre as well. RT has more of a Jimi Hendrix vibe in is style of playing. Another one of my favorite guitarist would be Carlos Santana.

Personally I rank him close to Hendrix, close because Hendrix was a total pioneer. Clapton maybe, def up there with the big boys. Everyone including Clapton who was a friend of Stevie and shared the same stage together said of him that he was so accurate in his playing. Def a monster as you said. btw another close contender was Terry Kath from Chicago, formerly CTA, Chicago Transit Authority
