My friend had told me about Stevie Ray Vaughan years ago as he was a very avid fan and I was interested in other genres at the time and let me tell you I could kick myself today for not listening. Stevie Ray Vaughan, in my opinion, is the GOAT (Greatest Of All Time) guitarist and his voice is great too. He was a little guy but a giant to me now. I am saddened that he was taken from us so soon. Stevie Ray is one of a kind. Such passion and soul and when he kicked his drug and alcohol habit he got even better only to 4 years later to die tragically in that helicopter accident, among others. I think had he lived he would have expanded his music and I truly love watching videos of his live performances, one version of Voodoo Child where he's wearing black, Look at Little Sister, and a beautiful, mellow tune where Stevie Ray pulls at my heartstrings, Riviera Paradise. There is no one like him.

Even though this comment is several months too late, and you may never see it, I just wanted to say: you should never feel pressure to hold back your thoughts and reactions, most especially on your reaction channel. The two of you have such a refreshing sincerity in your reactions and discussions about music. For people just discovering an artist or performance through your channel, it enhances the experience more to have a "shared" reaction; for those that are already fans, we get to experience that feeling of discovery through your reaction and words (if there are any words available!). If you ever DO see this comment, I really love all of the videos and reactions that you share with all of us. You two have an energy in front of the camera that immediately pulls you in as a viewer, and I always have a smile on my face by the end of each video. Thank you for all of the things :)

@@HS-hr5wp Official NTSB Report; “Four helicopters were being used at night to transport a conecrt group from a golf course area near Elkhorn, WI, to Chicago, IL. As the third helicopter (N16933) was departing, it remained at a lower altitude than the others, and the pilot turned southeasterly toward rising terrain. Subsequently, the helicopter crashed on hilly terrain about 3/5 mi from the takeoff point. Elevation of the crash site was about 100 ft above the golf course and 50 ft below the summit of the hill. No preimpact part failure or malfunction was found during the investigation. Pilots of the other helicopters reported vfr flight conditions with some fog. A ground witness near the crash site reported haze and ground fog of varying intensity with patches of low clouds, but said stars could be seen through the fog. The National Transportation Safety Board determines the probable cause(s) of this accident as follows: Improper planning/decision by the pilot, and his failure to attain adequate altitude before flying over rising terrain at night. Factors related to the accident were: darkness, fog, haze, rising terrain, and the lack of visual cues that were available to the pilot.” Why would you even remark that SRV was “taken out”? Love your reactions. SRV was an amazing man. He couldn’t read music, taught himself, was never trained, and never planned any performance. His band had no idea what the next song was, until he started playing. He felt his music, this song never sounded the same way twice. He ad libbed every song, at every concert. He was truly amazing. He is the only celebrity that made me tear up when he passed away. We lost a very humble and brilliant man that day in 1990.

This song uses a standard (Blues phrasing) - of "beck and call" lyrics - it beckons with a twice repeated phrase - then answered back with the "call" lyric - this phrasing is utilized in a huge amount of blues music when you start to listen and recognize the style.

As probably previously stated by others. blues was developed primarily in the Southern states of the U.S by blacks, starting around 1920. At that time it was strictly acoustic. It became electrified and urbanized later in the 1940's and 50's as blacks moved from rural areas to urban centers like Chicago. By the 1960's traditional blues was not popular with the younger blacks, though it formed the basis of other forms of music that were popular , like R &B and soul. In the 1060's there was a blues revival by white musicians (many of them British, like the Rolling Stones) and enthusiasts who brought interest in the form to the white audience both in the US as well as Europe. I've listened to numerous European folk musics and while they can sound "bluesy" they don't use the same chord patterns or structures.

Buna dimineata, American here married to a Romanian wife living in Texas. Stevie Ray brought back blues to a new generation. He played the old legends stuff with a new sound if you will. He also can be heard on David Bowie "Let's Dance" album. I was at SRV's recording of Live Alive, his live album recorded in Austin and Dallas. My wife at the time was 9 months pregnant. When the venue people saw us in line, they brought us right in and gave us pretty nice seats. Soon as the guitar started, my son was kicking in the belly. I tell him it's his first concert. SRV was taken from us FAR too early in a helicopter crash after playing a show in 1990. RIP
