Stevie Ray Vaughan was the guitar. Since he was 7 years old. He worked at it 7 days a week 365 days a year for 7 to 8 hours a day. He always gave everything he had every time he went on stage. My brother is still the best gutiar player on the face of the planet. Period. ❤❤❤❤ i'm Stevie's little Sista Good song by the way. I am 2 years younger then Stevie Ray. ❤❤ We where thick as 2 bugs on a bumper. ❤❤ Damn I miss em so much. ❤❤ He was my best friend. ❤❤ Peace to ya'll. Kiya Lynn Vaughan. ❤❤

I was lucky to have seen SRV live in Seattle 1985, my sister worked for a radio station I’m my town so we had back stage passes I did not talk to him much but did shake his hand and hear him interact with other fans it was clear to me he a super humble man and he loved his fans, that said two things that stick out to me when I met him, 1-As a kid hearing him play on the radio I had this vision that he was 10’ tall so you can imagined my surprise when I saw him in person and he was only like 5’6, 2-I will never forget how big his and were for such a short man and they felt like rocks. I was crushed when I heard the new that SRV passed RIP Stevie gone but never forgotten.

Vodoo child live in Nashville!!! Fantástico!!!

yeah, this show was in 1989 about a year before Stevie died, it was recorded for Austin City Limits and if you'd like to see the whole show it's availabe under the name 'One Night in Texas'. i would suggest 'Texas Flood' and 'Lenny' both live at the El Mocambo and in that order, he was on fire that hight (sometime in 1983) and those 2 tracks will give you a fuller grasp of just how great Stevie was. something worth noting is that Stevie and his older brother Jimmy (who still tours btw, not Stevie but a damned fine guitarist), were both completely self taught by listening to music and then imitating it until they could play it so they don't read music, they FEEL it when they play it which means that each performance is unique, so you might consider reacting to Stevie's rendition of VooDoo Child in Nashville, i think it was recorded in 1984 but that could be wrong so just look for Nashville and you'll find it.

here is another artist worth exploring and there is much to see as he was a very prolific composer and performer (Frank is the guy with the guitar out front without a shirt). ...Frank was an AMAZING guitarist! kzbin.info/www/bejne/Y6bUko2NZ5Wlmsksi=RF9HNVZpNpV5SKSS

With all due respect, a 9.5 rating for this song by the great SRV is an insult. He deserves a 10+ rating. Sure, you have a right to your opinions, but you're all way off on your ratings. That man has more passion in his little finger than any other guitarist I have ever heard, and there are many great ones too, but SRV is the GOAT! He has a soulful song that he wrote called Riviera Paradise. It's like the calm after the storm. And it's really a nice change, too.

Tommy Shannon played with the Johnny and Edgar Winters for a while, before he hooked - up with Stevie along with Chris Leighton on drums.

Jimi created it and Stevie made it musical. He was a better, cleaner player than Hendrix, but would never claim it. Doesn't blow a note, ever, he's the standard for a 10.

Thanks for your reactions! SRV was fantastic.. this was obviously a tribute to Jimi Hendrix.. although IMHO, Stevie does it better...

Hendrix did it first but Stevie did it best...

Is that a cut up version of that video? There were at least 2 cuts / deletes in the performance.

Stevie Ray spent hardly no time in the studios, his best album he spent 2 days on. Stevie couldnt read music , he was a " live channell " not my words Eric Claptons

I am not sure if this is you first time seeing him live. If so congratulations on losing your Vaughanginity! Next to understand what a rating of 11 is view Texas Flood live at the El Mocambo! You are not ready. Also remember when you see him bend those strings those are 13s!

@@chelsealeighyogi Without giving you a diatribe it seems like those who are not trying to play guitar at any serious level have a hard time comprehending the difficulty of what Stevie does. I have been playing the blues for over 50 years and all I want to accomplish is to play with his level of passion. I jokingly tell people i think he would have been a better player if he played with his eyes open once and a while. When you watch Texas Flood dont blink and notice such things. This is quite the rabbit hole you have jumped down! Welcome to the family!

Nice reaction, but that wasn’t a 10.0 what is???. Please continue with Stevie Ray!! Check out “Tin Pan Alley” with SRV and pal Johnny Copeland. Deep Blues Heaven!

As good as this is don’t forget that this a cover. Jimi Hendrix wrote it originally and recorded it first. That said, very few people could cover it and get away with it. But the original is better.
