Say what you want about Nash's seriousness as a wrestler. As a ribber, he's a legend.
@drseussofporn
@drseussofporn Жыл бұрын
Nash was serious in the WWF. Hell - in-ring work - that was by far his best because he cared. Hall and Nash stopped caring when they went to WCW because it was just a paycheck. You can even tell in their demeanor in the nWo; they were happy to be on easy street, but they missed how WWF pushed their limits and actually perform at a high level.
@Kasigi03
@Kasigi03 Жыл бұрын
@@drseussofporn Ehhh worst drawing eventer of all time. It might have been his most serious time in wrestling but he wasn't at all that serious. His promos were SHIIIIIIT. I mean he put NO effort into them the way he can. His matches stunk, period. But I never found any of Kevin's in ring work all that good especially to be a main eventer champion. NWO was ok until the over all takeover with everyone joining and Wolfpac can suck a nut. They did nothing but come out, say the same quotes (so did NWO and it really wasn't all that great) and their matches were forgettable. Nash as a human seems mostly genuine however and chill.
@drseussofporn
@drseussofporn Жыл бұрын
@Kasigi03 Worst drawing events can't really all fall on Nash, business wasn't red hot across the board. But that didn't mean he didn't take it serious. The WWF tried to push him as a smiling baby face and that wasn't him; he was at his best during the Taker/Shawn feuds when he could just act like a badass and give that precursor Austin tweener attitude. As for his in-ring work in WWF, revisit some of the matches. I'm not saying he's a Scott Hall or HBK, but he gets a bad rap as a poor worker. For what he could do, he was good. He is easily one of the best big men in the business when you put him into the same category as other workers with his height, even a better worker than shorter "superstars" WWF tried to push. I would take a Bret/Diesel main event any day over a Bret/Warrior match. I know that's probably obvious to anyone, just making the point that Nash wasn't nearly as bad in the WWF as the historians would have you believe.
@Kasigi03
@Kasigi03 Жыл бұрын
@@drseussofporn Who the hell brought up a Bret/warrior scenario, lol. And no, I would never consider him one of the best big men in the business. FAR more better guys around his size. I also don't need a history lesson, I lived through it.

@@Kasigi03 dude say what you want about 1995 wwf but it was a fun time. Wrestling these days could take a page or 2 from those times when Diesel was champion. Diesel had a really great match with Bret and Undertaker. And when he was in Wolfpac he became very over as a main eventer.

Stevie always seemed like a "regular guy" to me. He comes off that way on these interviews as well. Just so genuine and thankful. Fun fact... back in his ECW days I would see him out and about from time to time since he lived not too far from where I did. One time I seen both him and meanie at a local Burger King. Another time at "BJs Wholesale" (which is similar to Sam's Club). He was right behind me in line purchasing underware, lol. Another time I saw him at Franklin Mills mall just shopping. I've seen him a couple of other random times too. Never had the guts to bug him though, I really didn't want to bother him, he just seemed like such a regular guy doing things we all do. Although that time when he was behind me in line I did say hi to him and he said hi back.

Watching through these interviews, Stevie seems like a great dude too; always thought so on the show. Really liked him as a face. He was like the 'everyman' wrestler. I think it stems (fairly or unfairly) mostly from what we heard about Shawn Michaels' actions. While they were a group of friends. When you hear Hall & Nash talk about the business, it's mostly about money. Making the most money, or manuvering to make the most. When you hear Shawn & Triple H talk about it, they always wanted the top spot. To be in the main event, for better or worse. Waltman was just there to shit in things on command I guess.
