Bret was at a mall in 2005 promoting his DVD and he kept signing autographs even after the store had closed. He held conversations with small children who didn't know who he was but just wanted a picture. I respect the hell out of him for that.

Ok, here's my Bret story....met him in Detroit. Was backstage, won a contest to meet some wrestlers. I had fractured my left foot the day before so couldn't walk good. Bret saw me hobbling along, came over asked if I was ok and helped me walk to where I was going. He even bought me a pop from a vending machine ;or wherever he got it from). He spent like 20 minutes talking to me and before he left he signed stuff for me, took some pictures and even talked to my mom on the phone cuz she's a huge Bret fan too. In fact, HE suggested we call my mom when I told him how long she had been a fan. I got nothing but respect for Bret. Every fan back there he talked to and did autographs and pix for. The other really cool people that night were Stone Cold and UnderTaker. Never met Scott, so I can't say anything about him. Did meet Kevin Nash and he was so nice to my 6 yr old brother. The LoD guys were kinda dickish. Ultimate Warrior, Brooklyn Brawler, and Marty Jannety were nice when I met them

When I was 6 years old in 1994 I asked my idol (Ireland international soccer player) Paul McGrath for an autograph when I seen him at Dublin Zoo. He screamed "fuck off" at me at the top of his lungs. I had heard that language before then but never from an adult and I was shocked. I hated Paul For 8 yrs afterwards until he released his autobiography and it turns out that he was an alcoholic who got so strung out for a drink and had no alcohol that he drank two pints of toilet cleaner/bleach. He also had attempted suicide by cutting his wrists a couple of months before I asked for his autograph. The point is to consider that the person behind the Sports star or tv personality might have some issues with drink, drugs or depression etc. and don't be shocked if they react negatively. It might just be a terrible moment for them.

It's hard to believe Scott Hall wouldn't sign a wrestling card for a sick kid. ..... I did however once run into Dikembe Mutombo at a Benihana Japanese Steak House and he wouldn't sign an autograph for a small child who asked. Mutombo said to out loud "they don't bother a dog when they are eating in my country" and just wouldn't not sign it for the kid even though the management of the restaurant came by and politely asked him. Very rude.

I am not trying to defend Scott here....however, I had a friend who was at the autograph signing in Phoenix. He told Scott that he was my favorite wrestler and I couldn't make it and the guy signed me something and made me a video. I don't see why he would do that for me and not for a sick kid with cancer. Furthermore, I have seen some reports saying it was in Phoenix, and some saying it was in Tucson. Bret Hart may have heard the story wrong. Maybe Scott misunderstood or didn't realize what was being asked of him. All I really would like was to see what Scott Hall has to say. Based on my friend's interaction with the guy, this story doesn't seem 100% legit. Once we have heard the other side of the story, then I will make a judgement call.

It's pretty obvious that Hall had no idea what the card was for. Bret says wrestlers get too worried that their signature will get sold on Ebay so obviously he was talking about Hall. If Hall thought it might get sold on Ebay, obviously no one told him what the card was for, or else he wouldn't of thought it would get sold on Ebay.

I met both of these guys and both were cool to me. I met Hall in 93 at a Mall Signing outside Detroit, it was before SS93. I was only like 11 at the time but my older brother who was 20 took me. My brother was a pretty big dude, about 6'4 240 ish he said to me "I'm gonna make fun of Razor for losing to 123 kid", so we get up for the autograph and my brother says that. Hall stands up and dwarfs my brother, he couldn't believe how big he was so my brother starts stuttering. It was hilarious. THen Hall jokingly flung his toothpick at him. It was all in good fun. As for Bret, I met him in like 99 or 2000. I was in high school and working at KMart. At the time KMart used to have this deal with WCW where whenever KMart released a new line of toys they would have an autograph session. I've met a bunch of wrestlers during that time because of that(Sid was the best, he came and played basketball with us by our loading dock). Anyway Bret was pretty reserved just like you would expect. But I told him he was my favorite wrestler ever and I looked up to him(which was the truth) he instantly looked at me and started talking to me like I was his best friend or something. Really engaging.

I love Bret Hart and I'm saying he is lying but he may not have gotten the whole story. Hall may have turned down the autograph but he probably didn't know it was for a dying kid, he may have thought the person was lying or didn't even know. But with that said, I do know that Bret does care about stuff like that. For all the shit he has given Hogan through the years he did praise him in his book because of how he treated the fans. He put him over big time talking about how Hogan was great to all the fans and it was something that he really admired and inspired to be like. And he bashes Hogan every chance he gets so for him to say something so positive shows that he does care about shit like that.

I understand Brets point if its true. What did surprize me though was Bret shaming a guy who was the only one wrestler at this wrestling event to stand up for Brets deceased brother. Some nobody made a "joke" about Owens death and the only one there who was man enough to speak out was Scott Hall. (and if you say it was because he was drunk, you're wrong)

keep in mind this is bret hart. he tells everything to make himself come out in a good light. scott will tell u straight up if he was an ass but you will get the truth

This is something that is known about Bret though. He is known as one of the top guys for being good to the fans. Always has time for an autograph, stays past his scheduled time at signings to make sure everyone got one, and even takes the time to swap some stories and answer questions. Other wrestlers that knew him in those days have come out and said that Bret always went the extra mile for the fans

Why the fuck Scott Hall??? You have supposed to have got your shit together... And now you act like this!!! Be a brave man and do the right thing don't let that devil back in your life!!!

Wow shame on Scott Hall

This is just bullshit. Bret Hart just want to make himself look good. That's why he's bitter on everyone else. A happy person don't push and shit on other people if he's truly happy. If Scott Hall knew he would sign. Bret Hart needs to move on with life.

Krillep It's not bullshit. This incident was reported on a lot of wrestling news websites. It's only a matter of time until other wrestlers mention this incident too.

Macca1969 I'm shore that he didn't sign. I just don't think it was black/white like Bret Hart tries to make a story of it. I think it was more complex like that or that Hall just didn't know. Bret Hart shits on everyone these days, he's the definition of bitterness. He just want to make himself look good.

Krillep The idea that Bret Hart would be "so tired of egotistical wrestlers" is kind of a joke.

Bret has always been big on respect for the fans. He slammed Ultimate Warrior because he refused to take time for fans. I personally can't say why Hall didn't sign, but if it was before he was clean, that's could be why. If it was after, he could've just had a moment.

It was before. When he was in WCW. He was a total mess back then.

Hey Bret....Scott actually stood up for your younger brother when some talentless hack comedian made a joke about his death. What would you have done in that situation? I usually agree with most of your shoots on wrestlers because a lot of them are selfish pricks but you should give Scott a break or at least alow him tell his side of the story. You don't know for certain that he turned down a dying kid. I'd say there's a lot more to it. Aside from that...you haven't walked in his shoes. He had a brutal upbringing and has had to carry a lot baggage from well before he ever touched alcohol. He wasn't blessed with being born into a wrestling dynasty, like you were. He came from a family of deadbeat drunks and actually held it together for as long as he could before catching the disease that is addiction.. You're path was lit up from the moment you were squeezed out. Also you've been divorced twice, once over disagreements about where you should live. He's only messed up once in that department. Stick "the best there is, was and ever will be" mantra up your Canadian ass, Hitman....

Unlike Hollywood bigshots with body guards who barley acknowledge the people around them Wrestlers meet thousands of fans every year face to face in public, sign autos, take pics, shake hands etc etc etc. Each of those thousands of encounters could happen at a bad moment for the wrestler & lead to a negative interaction. & with only that interaction to go off that fan then rushes to twitter or facebook & rips the guy as an asshole. It's a no win sometimes but most these guys do their best.
