Here's my opinion, Em only does the lyrical miracle stuff when he's rapping for fun just to prove he can rap BUT that's just a pocket he goes in sometimes. There are other times where he just shows his technical ability, there are times when he shows his storytelling ability, there are times when he's introspective, there are times when he's doing the Horrocore thing. Em as a true master of the craft has a plethora of pockets but ppl tend to focus on one thing in an attempt to discredit him

Predominantly white suburban MTV crowd supported Eminem and that's who he was marketed to when he first came out . Let's not act as if he marketed in the same space as Nas, DMX, or Jay-Z in that era . Eminem wasn't marketed to "everybody" as you put it. As your touch the soul comments are concerned, there's some truth to that. If you look at nearly every predominantly black genre of music over the last 60 years soul was in the music . When people say lyrical miracle rap I think of rappers who use a lot of fancy words with usually a rapid fire flow or some sick cadence while not truly saying anything. Listening to Ransom and dude talking I think their pushing that definition to include rappers who are lyrical in the sense of spitting "random" punches, similes, entendres, and schemes with no specific target or cohesive message. I believe there is some validation to it. This type style of rap has become popular especially with YT rappers. Though we know Eminem is capable of doing way more than aimlessly spitting the dopest technical rap you've ever heard he hasn't reallyy give us much music with substance and introspection anymore. Nas just dropped what I think may be a classic features from both Eminem and Lauryn Hill. I was definitely more excited about L. Boogie's return and even though like everyone else I was excited that Nas and Em would finally collaborate on same track, I pretty much could predict how Em was going to rap, all technical little substance. On the other hand L. Boogie spit a verse that was super deep something you can feel you could just feel her maturity on the track.

First of all, I love Math but if Eminem is just mentioned for 2 seconds he puts it in the title. But my opinion is lyrical miracle is just one tool in Em’s tool box. He definitely can’t be defined as lyrical miracle only.
@supervixen33433 жыл бұрын
Definitely. I personally think he didn't use to be but nowadays he is. Mostly because he keeps challenging himself, not because he can't do storytelling or something else anymore.

One thing I learned (about the talent and marketing yourself discussion) is there a fan base out there for everyone! 8 years ago all of us would have heard mumble rappers and laughed are ass off talking about how they ain’t making no money, same for those rappers that just say the same thing over and over again, we would have all been like “their not going anywhere” but look at thier fan base? They are making a ton of money and people want more..: like it’s any food? So you don’t really need to have the skill of marketing , it’s good to have but if you can just get yourself out there (social media is huge for it) you will eventually get a large enough fan base to support you (outside if youtube, there is a lot that goes into this platform …. Very rarely does someone make it on KZbin that didn’t work hard to earn it)

This shit is crazy cuz I grew up in Saudi Arabia as a kid and I literally knew who Ransom was when I was a teenager. He had beef with Budden back then and I believe you could find a couple of them videos on Joe Budden TV on KZbin. He wasn't as good a rapper but it's insane how he's relevant all of a sudden!

I love how people are now saying that he's too miracle and yes he is guilty of saying a bunch of corny things or putting a bunch of words together just to rhyme but I thought that was the point of wrapping in the first place to rhyme only Eminem could have it used as a detriment

I think every rapper can sometimes be “lyrical, miracle” especially the skillful ones. And imo it’s much better to be a “lyrical miracle” rapper than just a rapper who relies on just beats and auto tunes just to make a music.

Is it though? At least beats and autotune sounds good to most people Why do Stan’s get so pissy about those two things? Some people like to chill and listen to shit

@Dobservant13 жыл бұрын
I agree with you Stevie. I always understood lyrical miracle rap to be someone putting big words together to sound cool but the words together don’t have much meaning. Ex: “I serenade a barricade with Gatorade that a player made.” People may be like “wow! You heard that multi-syllable rhyming!” But really they didn’t say anything meaningful. Eminem has done that once or twice (like on some of his freestyles) but the bulk of his work makes perfect sense when read together.

Basicallly what they saying is that lyrical miracle rap is rap that doesn’t have much content. But that a lot of times is exactly what battle rapping is, and just listening to random bars and punchlines. I love listening to just a dope beat and dope bars, they don’t always gotta be rapping about a subject.
@1121pm3 жыл бұрын
I think your definition of the words is best of the 3. I started listening to Eminem since guilt conscience that album is probably still my favorite of them all. I can see where he thinks Eminem is just flexing but what do you expect when he did it all? He said it plenty of times in his rap. In my opinion alot of people and rappers hate Eminem cause he gets more attention than they do even though his time has passed lol he set the bar so high these dudes know they will never out do him

A lyrical miracle rapper could be talented or skilled but whatever he/she says hypnotizes you it doesn't matter the matter the content or the moral of the verse you just go with it and be wowed

When he contradicts himself, I just want to say that we’re all full of contradictions. There are times when I hate hearing things that don’t say shit, and I say that’s why I don’t like it…BUT, other times I hear things that don’t say shit, but maybe they hit different or hit so many levels and I love it. So…we’re all full of contradictions.

13:48 this and earlier 5:50 Lyrical Miracle is a jab. The Mumble is horizontal rap using the same phrase because it rhymes and as filler b/c they don't have lyrics or to lengthen the song. Lyrical might be vertical rap like an apartment building stacking a variety of words usually. Miracle functionally is vertical rap but with rhyming on the word-bends--stretching the syllable or hyping a syllable that is not the last syllable.-Ernie Moore Jr. It seems their take is "Lyrical Miracle" is extended-thinned-stretched mumble Rap.-Ernie Moore Jr. ... it seems like a put-down.-Ernie Moore Jr.
