Dealing with someone unstructured like that is a headache but he got away with it when he was on top. However, business partners have long memories. 7) Lastly, Wayne is a substance abuser and its finally starting to show in his appearance and his performance. Aside from the way he talks, Wayne has been seen several times inebriated on stage. He also didn't make it a secret while he was on top that he indulges in drugs heavily... now at 41, that lifestyle hit him hard.

Seeing that Kendrick is not only popping but he’s also seen as too 3 performers in this generation probably I don’t see why you wouldn’t pick him. Also considering, the fact that Wayne’s health has not looked so good (you can even hear it in his voice), and that his political views are a less safe than Kendrick, it makes sense. From a marketing standpoint it seems like the best choice to get the artist best right now, when they have the number one song in the country than someone who wasn’t remembered until nicki or his manager said something. Regardless though, what happened happened, as someone watching from the outside it makes me feel less interested in lil Wayne after seeing people complain so much about a decision that is already made simply to rant or devaluate Kendrick being chosen.

He didn't work his ass off to get there. He's had a thirty year career and has never been asked to headline OR perform at a Superbowl. He has also gained a reputation for showing up late to shows or not showing up at all; showing up high and/or drunk; walking off stage of things go wrong; not showing up to rehearsals; and being overall difficult to work with. That has absolutely nothing to do with Kendrick Lamar or wanting Kendrick to perform at a halftime show. That has to do with lack of dedication and preparation to that specific part of his craft. He's never cared about his live shows like that but had a desire to play the superbowl. But never ACTUALLY did the work to clean up that reputation to be in serious contention. He just felt entitled because the show is in his hometown (for the 11th time). There's actually no excuse for him not having it together enough over a thirty year career to be prepared if the opportunity arose (his own words).
