Hey man, love the channel. Don't mean to have another Sum 41-related request, but I would love if you did a video a bit more on the writing process of the band. It's not like those songs just popped in out of thin air. Would love to know about how Deryck would demo tracks, how would you go in either beforehand or in the studio and work out the drum parts, and generally how songs came to be. In particular, I've always been very curious about Chuck as it seems like the first album that was really written in the studio for the band with lots of instrumentation and arrangements added later. Thanks Stevo!

I remember buying Sum 41's All Killer No Filler in a weird CD vending machine at an airport in 2001. Blew my freaking mind. 23 years later and I can still play it front to back on the drums. It left a huge mark on my musical taste, and I can't thank you enough for being one of the reasons why I still play drums to this day.

Reading this made me realize, is that why the drum solo track on Half Hour of Power called "32 Ways to Die"?
@summelf
@summelf 2 ай бұрын
32 is the standard musical time signature. It means 32 beats per 1 measure (I don't know what it's properly called in musical theory) There are usually 4,8,16,32 beats per measure in rock music. 32 is this fast paced beat you hear during drum breaks or drum solos.

Speaking of which, you should make a video about best/worst free SWAG you guys ever got at these uppity events! You can also do a best/worst places you’ve stayed as a runner up vid topic. I always loved your drumming on that opening track which was also the opening song played the first time I saw Sum 41 at The Vogue Theatre in Vancouver, BC during 2011 with Billy Talent for a benefit concert. I gave the 41 salute standing on top of chairs not yet destroyed by the chaotic crowd 🤣 (it could've been right after In Too Deep cuz KZbin shows footage of the performance as Deryck gives the 41 salute after looking in the crowd and I was impossible to miss 😂). After Sum 41's set ended, out of nowhere, someone on the floor shouted, "Has anyone seen a fucking sandal?!" And thus ended another Sum 41 concert hahahaha

I didn't have that since the red and blue kit - but when I bought this Ludwig kit it came with 12 & 13 racks so I figure why not! Took a sec getting used to the ride in that position ! it's fun having all the toms (I don't really use the 18" FT)
@nbctheoffice

@@stevo32drums Awesome! Ride positioning seems to be the deciding factor when it comes to number of toms. I’ve been experimenting lately with putting the lowest floor tom to the left of the hi-hats. It makes for some unique fills. Cheers!
