This is exactly how my grandmother taught my mom, and now how my mom has taught me. It’s the best! I see everyone burn sugar instead of ketchup, but the ketchup is soooo good! I refuse to switch lol.

When I make my stew lentils, I soak it overnight then I stew it the same way i make my stew chicken by burning my sugar and ketchup, garlic and hot pepper and its delicious.

I have been stewing my lentils like I stew chicken. I cook my sugar and then add everything else and add my green sauce. I don't same as you but instead of putting the sugar raw I burn mine
