Paratha/ Buss up Shut Roti - Mom's Trini Cooking

DISCLAIMER:
Sorry about the lighting towards the end of this video. I only use natural lighting at the moment and the sun moved faster than I thought it would while filming. I decided to still post the video because it was highly requested. Enjoy for now and please let me know if you tried this recipe!
For this recipe you will need:
6 cups flour
1/2 tsp salt
1/2 tsp sugar
1 tsp baking powder (*in the video I said 1 tablespoon, but it is 1 teaspoon)
1 tbsp crisco
1 tbsp butter
4 tbsp vegetable oil
2 3/4 cups lukewarm water

Hi Aunty. Niiiiice roti. You remind of when my mom makes paratha. She kneads the dough very soft like you and don’t spend all day kneading and kneading making it hard. She always says soft dough makes soft roti and the ease you stretched it out shows the lovely texture lol. She doesn’t use crisco though, just butter and oil but hers come out really fluffy too 😊. Great video!!!

I am planned to make again for Eid. How do I prep and put uncooked in the fridge from the day before as you mentioned?

@@anisahramautarsingh2482 follow all of them steps except the part where you are going to roll it out. You can either wrap them individually or cover the entire tray with Saran Wrap and put it in the fridge over night. Before you are ready to cook them make sure you let them sit out of the fridge for about 30 mins, to come to room temp. Let me know how it goes!
