That's gonna spool fast. I have the same pte6262 .68ar in my 240z 2jz... daily driven super responsive. Great power band up to redline... spools good. No lag...
@corsomike16 жыл бұрын
Like it all so far with the exceptions that your leaving the cam gears open ( bad JuJu ) and that the header has no external support for all the turbo weight . it will crack over time without a doubt . ( food for thought )

That 90 on the oil return is a little risky. You may want to consider going with a 45 instead.

Engine is looking nice. Can you print out a vinyl (or other material) decal for the lettering? Not sure of the temp maximums but worth looking into.

That kind of manifold needs a support bracket or it will crack with the weight of the turbo!

Hi mate! Your videos are helping me big time (1jz into e30), keep them coming. I've also bought a Mishimoto sandwich plate for my oil filter, what size adaptor did you use? M20 or m22? And where can i get that "bung" adaptor!? Thanks in advance

Hey, the mishimoto sandwich plate I bought came with the adapter. So I don't know what size it was.

Whats a good turbo for a 1jz cause i been looking at HKS t51r and Garett or borg warners but they dont say if its compatible for a 1jz.
@Marko-JZX1006 жыл бұрын
Leo Lewis Depends alot of your goals what you're trying to achieve. T51r? Seems like you need to research and learn a bit more before just guessing what turbo might suit for you. I have BorgWarner S363-sxe on my 1jz vvti, twinscroll T4 manifold, Turbosmart 45mm hypergate wg. My friend has also 1jz vvti, but with a Garrett GTX3576r gen2, vband inlet, fuse fabrication vband manifold and same 45mm turbosmart wastegate. My goals are around ~700whp and his about 650whp with very very wide powerband. Both our heads are ported and I'm running bc272 cams and he has bc264's. So yeah theres alot more to think about, other than just turbo when building engine.
@ns_shadowf4i6 жыл бұрын
Marko Sandelin i know that. I was just asking. I plan to make a 5-600whp 1jz. But i just wanted to know some good turbos. But again like you said its all based on your goals.
@Marko-JZX1006 жыл бұрын
Leo Lewis Cheers mate, was only trying to help out. 👍 For 5-600hp on 1j, a good compressor inducer size is anything between 58-63mm. Turbine wheel at least 62-64mm and you are good to go out and search different turbos depending on your budget. Journal bearing borgwarners and holsets are tried and proven choices. S362-sxe with a T4 twinscroll hotside 0.91ar would be my choice for good budget turbo that will support up to ~700hp. Even plain old Holset hx40 super will do 600 easily and spool fast with good manifold. My other friends 2j with hx40 super makes 664hp 1.9bar boost. 1bar at 3000rpm
@jzshifter6 жыл бұрын
Marko Sandelin whats a good a/r size for quick spooling for those turbo sizes you recommended for a street driven car and would get you to the 500 whp ? I know there would be some lag with power levels of 500hp and up. I also had some of the same questions as leo that you answered already. This is something i've been thinking about for a while for a 1jz gte vvti as well.
