I appreciate the fact that you had to actively remember which instruments your fret slot gauges fit.

That pop up and slide to the next slot feature is quite fancy I really love that

I bought this miter box over a year ago I only used it twice, I just went too use it and the cap screwsthat hold the bearing height plates seem to be stripped they will not tighten up. Please Stew MAC tell me what I can do about this?? I have two fretboards to cut slots in but I’m afraid too use the miter box because the height adjustment will not tighten. Also I bought you fret slotting templates too use with the miter box but I’m confused because it seems that the first notch might be the nut location??? Also Why is there no center line on the templates??? Scott

Could you please tell me how i cut the nut on an acoustic guitar? I can of course cut all the slots like in the video. But when you get the widest slot is it the first fret? or the nut? Thanks a lot, i hope for a responce

Thank you for the video. I somehow did not really get how the template works and how attached the nascent fret board to it.
@MixingGBP Жыл бұрын
You can use double sided tape or the super glue trick to temporarily attach the board to the template.

How does this deal with differing fretboard radii?
@danterosales93924 жыл бұрын
simple, you radius the board AFTER slotting lol

Wow, this looks amazing. May have to invest.

binge watching these vids and this is the kind of work I should have taken up. Why oh why did I get into IT??

Matthew Wilson because it pays more.

I suppose. But that isn't exactly why I got into IT in the first place. And I really don't get paid that much but that could be that I am just doing it wrong.

Hello, I need help with your website. I need a slotted fretboard for a 24 fret 25.5 scale rosewood fretboard but they are already radius to 12” the others are radius 10 to 14.75 or something I need just a flat non radius slotted Fretboard
@ludalzeubite32026 жыл бұрын
Can I make multiscale with this??

how do i utilize this jig to cut slots at the same radius as the fretboard?
@mattstreet49898 жыл бұрын
You don't. You cut the slots, then you sand the radius into the board.

this did NOT show how to adjust the template to fit the saw.

Why can't someon design a regular mitre box like this? Great idea with the ball bearings. I just paid for a plastic one a week ago, and already the cuts are crooked, and I'm cutting into plastic.
@sethjones49166 жыл бұрын
Why don't you guys make a premium-regular-use mitre box for the public? You would be kings in a field that only offers cheap junk and inaccurate cuts.

250 sa stewmac. $99 other places for same thing. Exact same thing. They are paying $50 each having these made in china and selling for $250
@stewmac3 жыл бұрын
Actually these are custom-designed and assembled in Athens, Ohio using the highest quality materials we can get our hands on.
@timeiseverything43 жыл бұрын
@@stewmac Great, Design takes one time. Assembled in Athens using imported parts or all manufactured using USA parts? Im guessing china parts and assembled in Athens? Well they are being knocked off in china then and sold for $99. I bought one. Identical. Money sent to china shipped form usa warehouse. Aluminum and all. Seems identical to yours. works great. If yours had lifetime warranty I would have bought it. Really for that price it should to be honest.

Also, the notch may keep the finger board in place but it does NOT line up with the next slot!!! You can even see it in the video. This is NOT an instructional video. It is a sales video. A better explanation is necessary. Not a good Job. Try again, please!

This video iis more advertisement than instructional..... I bought this and am really disappointed in the instructions. In the video you say adjust for depth of cut...but HOW??? You gloss over what you use to reference the measurement, you just show using a ruler with out any instructions.....really BAD!! Then how do you account for the nut and first fret on the template??? again you don't give enough info for a new user to use your product.
@clydebigsby41176 жыл бұрын
you shouldn't have bought it if you don't know how to use it
@joesmusic71434 жыл бұрын
i agree with you whole-heartedly! This is an advertisement. The Notch does NOT line up your next slot. You can see this in the video. I reversed the plates with the notch to go notch-less. Bad video. Not even a little bit of instruction. sad.
