I loved my Mavericks. They aren't really stable when horsepower gets boosted. It can get away from you easily. That chassis wasn't built for speed, handling, or braking. This is truly a Dream Car! I love the powertrain and I think that you did some of the most tasteful body mods for a Maverick I've ever seen. It's a gorgeous car!

You guys really hit on something most people don't realize. There's a point where you can have too much power on the street where you can't enjoy it. Not to mention you're doing triple digits in a matter of seconds. One bad cop and you're racing days are over. I remember reading about that viral video of that old man speed shifting his mustang, saying "get some biches". He got caught up in being faster too. Got his mustang into the 9's. He just wasn't enjoying it, so he detuned it where it ran 12's. Said he loved it so much more.

Many years ago Hot Rod Magazine had a series of hand drawn car designs, by readers if I recall, but someone did a what-if using typical Shelby design details on a Maverick as if Ford did one similar to a GT350 and though I always liked Mavericks, I never stopped thinking about that design. Awesome car

When I was 20 yrs old I bought a 70 maverick off a used car lot for $800. It had been garage kept and was clean clean. Had a inline 6 cylinder and got about 35 miles to the gallon if not better on some days. I was working at a grocery store before life started with a wife and kids. I had to let the car go for what I owed on it which was around $600 owed at the bank. Lol. The guy that bought it was playing around on a back road one day and flipped it over on the top and collapsed the rooftop amongst side panels and hood. If I only knew what I know now, I wouldn't have never sold it. The price for project cars these days is absolutely ridiculous.

just found you guys for the first time as i love old mavericks and was searching...... i track (sports car stuff) a 66 mustang (wanted to build a fairlane wagon or a maverick but never found the donor) with a 500rwhp windsor that is a street car with A/C and P/S and a trailer hitch. the current build on my car started 15 years ago so it has a tremec TKX. 68K miles and well over 10K track miles on it. if you changed from the drag race setup to a road race setup the driving experience changes dramatically. it will make a heroine addiction seem like a mild craving for something salty....
