I don't think it's a good marketing idea to keep saying 'it's not that different from a normal blade'... Well, if it's not all that different, why bother ordering it or why spend so much money on it?:)) Being and feeling different is are negative attributes. The idea behind it was to feel somewhat different, to get a fresh feeling. It kinda takes the wind out of the sails.

It's only a straight-edged version of an egg-profile shape Dunlop marketed ~ fifty years ago. A bit of flare at the sweet-spot distance. If there were an advantage to the actual straight-edge configuration, you'd have seen it ubiquitously in tennis and badminton racquets long ago.
@elias30263 жыл бұрын
@@-danR well yes and no. You can make an argument that the straight edge gives you a a slight edge over the table (pun intended), an area inexistent in tennis or badminton.

Congratulations to Truls Morgard on winning silver medal at the world championship. I would rather give more credits to his creative, authentic , unique playing style for his victories. In nutshell, he has superior FH shots, outstanding short ball control, hurricane BH shots and so dare to fight spirits. Dan, this video made my Friday night very delightful. Thumbs up from USA.

I play the cybershape at my lower amateur league level basically for one reason only: It gets me in the head of my opponent even before i played the first ball. They are all so curious and think more about thr blade than their own game. But beside the unusual shape, it is a good blade

6.15 to 6.54. This is the big marketing opportunity for STIGA.As Dan says very interesting at the end. Truls says he is using the defined heptagonal corners of the blade as a guide to get the right angle on backhand shots and make adjustment. With a. Standard round curve blade you do not have such an obvious physically visible reference.[unless you make some mark on the bat].I would not be surprised if STIGA marketed a slower blade CYBERSHAPE in the future. Originally the word Cyber from Cybernetics, meant Steersman, so this control feature is quite apt.

It has been done with tennis rackets as well. Radek Stepanek and Ivan Lendl used to play with 10-sided Bosworth rackets. I don't think we will see a lot of people playing with these in the future. Combined with a different colored rubber this will definitely be an eyecatcher and throw off many opponents.

After watching some of the TTD rubber reviews, stats wise Tenergy 05 is just better in almost every way to the Stiga DNA Platinum XH - would Tenergy 05 suit this blade then?
@danielcsorba66862 жыл бұрын
Hey! I changed to cybershape half a year ago. First, I put Tenergy 80 on backhand and Dignics 80 to forehand. I loved it; it gave a superb control to the backhand and almost ridiculous catapult to the forehand. With just a bit of movement, my forehand counterspins went like cannonballs. Now, I put up the Dignics 09c to the forehand and kept the Dignics 80 but use it on the backhand. I think this is the real deal. I'm in love. If you are an offensive player, I recommend the Dignics series on this blade. The hardest is to adjust to the service and receive game. Needs a lot of adjustments, particularly in the fine touches. I try to attack more short balls, and I think that's good for my game. For sure, if you change to this blade, you have to be open to changing your game.

I am wondering how it would be like to play with a more flexible blade and harder rubber that is more consistent than the soft rubbers that certainly must wear out quickly.
@dominusblandus2 жыл бұрын
you said it is slower than Boll ALC... which isnt difficult for an innerlayer-blade. What blade does it compare too that you played already? Is it more like an Innerforce Layer ALC, an Harimoto ALC or an Ovtcharov No1 Senso or a Freitas? ...or something else in sense of feel in the hand and hold in vs kick out of the racket?
@ym2912-er52 жыл бұрын
Thank you for yet another great review which persuaded me to buy the blade. Unique feeling. I knew it was going to be good for me before I even tried it, because of the shape. It really helps to get a more accurate feeling of angles and position of the blade vs the ball at contact time. If you are like me you will like it. Well done Stiga for the innovation.

Maybe after a half year more I will be ready to get a real professional blade. What do you think? You can see how poorly I play on my channel ;D ... I have only played table tennis for 6 months. The fast blades opens the possibility to punch the ball with a flat backhand aggressively, which is also a very important skill to develop. I wonder if having both a fast blade and a slow blade will help development better.

depending on how beginner you are... you cant go wrong with an 5-play all wood blade... all, all+, off- ... like stiga allround evolution... and controllable rubbers... rozena might be even too fast... maybe a nittaku fastarc c1... dont start with very fast carbon blades and the power-rubbers the pros use... it might ruin your movement as those are so quick that you might not learn the proper technique to "pull through" the ball. start slow and after some months you can try quicker rubbers. after one or two years you migth be advanced enough to decide yourself if you might want to try a faster blade
