Been following Kenzie for quite a while. He is very meticulous in his work. Someday I may have him rework my Husqvarna 261 (EPA) with a flat top Meteor to change EPA to XP, lol.

Very cool tinman. I’ve a lot to learn. I fixed up a few climbing saw builds. One was successful and one was not. I’m working on fixing the other with a spare cylinder tho 😊

Those transfers WTH??? I've never seen that type of layout it's brilliant, awesome job Stihl!!! Re not going online to find others' work...I'm not so sure I'd be quick to brag on that man, learning from others on this type of thing is all but required if you wanna be as good as you can, to not learn from others (which inherently includes looking at #'s) is to severely handicap yourself....but I'm suspecting you meant it more like "I don't *only* copy #'s", find it nearly impossible to believe you don't even google to see what others do (I mean, maybe not, you did mention "going through" a ton of saws learning....kinda figured that was hyperbolic but I'll certainly cede that you could learn by going-through a bunch of trial&error experiments instead of learning from others!) That baffle on the OEM, thanks for showing that, have been having a helluva time making decent mufflers (I can't weld, otherwise I'd just do those pipes/bear-claw types that Harv & Billy are using), I love that idea of a solid-bottom baffle (would wanna open it WAY up from OEM dimensions, but would love like 50% of the bottom half of that baffle), I just did my 1st good (will see when tested I guess :P ) muffler for my 660's, I literally carved a piece of sheet metal to sandwich in between the muff halves to act as 'baffle and defection wall', it is secured in 3 of the 4 corners but its bottom-clutchside corner does a sharp bend inwards back to the exhaust-flange, so the exhaust pulse is literally shot-back at the flange, optimizing backpressure & scavenging! And that corner is lifted enough that more-than-enough air can get-around it, into the "front half", for escape through a large half-dollar sized hole in the front-plate :) Thanks as always it is so cool hearing your thought-process on this stuff, majorly appreciate it!!

What did your final blowdown come to? Orig was 14° (154-140). Also, what was the original squish? How did you decrease it? Did you just delete the base gasket or did you mill the cylinder base too?

I subscribed a few weeks ago because the content is solid, I am a man of simple taste. I open the exhaust a little and drill some extra vent holes in the air filter cover, what all you builders do is witchcraft to me but I love to watch.

BTW flywheel fins-- I got a saw to salvage/repair, thing ate something solid and lost multiple fins and also had its coil knocked-off the block so badly it stripped one of the 2 coil-mount holes! Saw runs fine to this day w/o having balanced the fins (I *couldn't*, lol, there was already too much material gone I needed what was left to do its job fanning the cylinder), I know it's just a case study of 1 but figured to share because it's always astounded me that it works, both how imbalanced the flywheel is and that the coil is McGuyver'd in there I literally pressure-fit the flywheel-casing to press-into a block of Permatex I poured in-place to aid in pegging the coil in place! This hasn't "just run" it's been running for nearly 2yrs, though admittedly I don't use it anymore I just start it now&then to ensure it still works, it's too heavy compared to my other climbsaws now, but it runs very well!! Would bet that a 2-fin loss would not affect *anything* in any significant way, with it balanced how you did, hopefully you have updates on this one will go check! Thanks as always for the A+ content!!
Love your channel thanks for sharing! May have to try & do something together in 2021!

@@tinmanssaws Where can I find it. I looked on amazon and they didn't have it. Maybe my search was wrong. I used it on a 200t clone which I rebuild using as many OEM parts as I had to. They are a small package and not the easiest to work on!!! I hope it holds up.

I think you very much for helping everybody with your channels and I have learned a lot from your channels I was wondering do you do basic porting for people ? I have a still MS-461R chainsaw that I have done a little bit of mods to the air filter cover and the muffler I'm going to receive my new port muffler kid I have a friend that's helping with help me with it but the porting part he does not have time to do I'm trying to do that myself and I have a 395 XP chainsaw that I'm doing that too it has a modified air filter system that I did to it and a ported muffler and by the summer I'm planning to save enough money to do one of the one of them ported first anyway I do find help your channel is very helpful to help people. !!

@@tinmanssaws ok no problem I think I'll stick with the original plan cylinder and have it ported an I found a hyway pop up piston with caber rings an depending on the squish possibly a base gasket delete squish permitting that is but got to run it alill bit 1st make sure bottom end is sound plus I got to get a dual port muffler cover an remove the baffle in the muffler it has that weird baffle that directs the exaust to the top of the muffler chamber idk y lol. It has no bucking spikes an the clutch cover is busted and the starter recoil spring grenaded out of the starter cover while I was changing the starter paws an pull rope so I either have to get a cover or get the factory spring wound tight enough to get it back in the lil channel and get the pulley back on it before it flys out lol joy for me lol. But it probably won't be very long and I'll have the parts an alil run time and I'll be ready to send it to you to work ur magic.
