I just bought the BR700 here in Finland to blow snow. The extra power over the 600 was noticeable while practicing at the shop. The 800 was not worth the extra 100 Euros as it doesn't include the additional narrow nozel attachment, so in fact it was less effective at lifting the snow. The 700 is a beast clearing snow. We live on 3 acres and at this time of year can drown in snow. It's so much better than my husqvarna snow blower, which fell apart after 2 tough winters.

I like Echo backpack blowers because they use a conventional 2 stroke motor and I don’t need to worry about adjusting the valves. I do have a Stihl FS94r and Stihl MS291 chainsaw though. Quality products.
@benjaminleslie31553 жыл бұрын
man I can't argue against echo, the 770 and especially the new 9010 are amazing blowers that are very comfortable to wear and I LOVE the hollow padding. I've tried redmax and husqvarna blowers and while they have great power too, they're not as comfy to wear as my stihls and echos. I can attest though that I have all three br600, br700, and br800 and have never had a problem with the 4-mix engines. and it's pretty straight forward how to adjust the valves the tune up kit that they sell comes with the feeler gage to do it. like I said I haven't had to check the valves yet on any of my blowers so adjusting the valves is something you'll probably rarely ever have to do.

I wish the br700 came standard with the hip belt accessory. I have had a br600 since 2014 and those straps kill your shoulders after an hour of blowing. the 700 is a great machine but the extra weight doesn't help with the fatigue. eh what's 30 dollars more right?

I have the 600 nearing 11 years which does good. Bought the 800x over 2 years ago and it's more comfortable than the 600 with more power. The 600 does good with grass like this fellow is correct. Just put the 800X back in use. Awesome.

What would you recommend for snow removal?
@benjaminleslie31553 жыл бұрын
@@1UpKroeker oh man. I wouldn't know. where I live in the north east we get wet heavy snow, very rarely light puffy stuff. so I don't think a blower would do you much good unless you have light puffy snow otherwise a snow thrower would be a better option.

@Carlsmower2 жыл бұрын
I’m talking in the of blower tube specs not at housing spec. You’re correct it does put out 239 mph at the blower housing with a measured tip of the tube it is 199 mph. This information is found in the owners manual. But either way this thing is a beast and has tons of power

You do a really nice job on the Stihl product videos, I've watched a bunch because I've also been in the market for a chainsaw. I'll be purchasing a leaf blower sometime between now and next fall. So, I happen to have the Stihl comparison chart printed out in front of me, it is currently April 28, 2024. Granted, it is about two years since you published your video, so maybe the specs changed - but the specs that you quoted in the video are materially different to those currently published by Stihl. Maybe Stihl changed the blower design? Or re-measured velocities? Or something else? Publication errors? According to Stihl's currently published spec chart: The 600 blows at 238 mph, not 200 mph. 677 cfm, not 700 cfm The 700 blows at 197mph, not 164 mph. 912 cfm, just like you said in the video. The 700 weighs 23.4 pounds, not 22 lbs and is 2 lbs heavier than the 600, not 1 lb heavier. The 800 is just like you called it - the velocity of the 600 (about 238 mph) and the volume of the 700 (912 cfm), It would be good to know Stihl's objective and why a knowledgeable consumer would choose the 600 over the 700. (You mentioned situations where the velocities for the 600 are too high in some applications, and you mentioned that dry Fall leaves benefit from more volume...). Is it as simple as that? Meaning, if you are a commercial operator the 700 might be a better choice for use all over a large yard with delicate areas?

Why do American pronounce Stihl, ‘steel’ and not ‘sshtill’?
@KC-rk1hx Жыл бұрын
Because as an American that’s not well traveled the ssh sound is odd to us.
@67L489 ай бұрын
The quick answer to your question about why Americans don't pronounce Stihl as "sshtill" is because that's not how it's meant to be pronounced. According to the Stihl website's general FAQ: . *Our name is pronounced exactly like the metal “steel.”* Actually, the vast majority of Americans pronounce it as "still." In English, an "unmodified" i is generally going to have that soft i sound. It, bit, mill, gin, lint, and so on. However, Stihl is a German name and the i takes on a different sound. We don't do well with German vowel sounds. The coffee maker Keurig has the German eu, which has an "oy" sound. Tag Heuer watches ... H-oy-er. But, nobody says K-oy-rig in America ... only K-yur-ig. In English, we require the "h" for the "sh" sound. A lone s will never signal an English speaker to use a "sh" sound. So, most Americans will pronounce Stihl using common English rules: still. Those who know a tiny bit about German, will know to pronounce it "steel." I've never heard anyone pronounce it "shtill" or "shteel," which is good, considering that this isn't how it's meant to be pronounced. Also, in English, the names Ann and Anne are pronounced exactly the same. In German, the "e" is pronounced at the end of words, so German Anne sounds like English Anna. It's why Americans will usually pronounce the car Porsche as "Poursh" while the correct German pronunciation would be "Poursh-uh"
