Wow, thanks for the DIY video. I just order the chinese carb from Amazon for 18.99ish and swapped it myself in about 30 mins. Had to do it twice because I forgot to reconnect the throttle linkage. Appreciate the vid! My local dealer wanted $207 with tax. They said the OEM carb was $100 and they charge $90/hr labor + tax. You just saved me a whole lot of money.

Wanted to say thanks. Have a BR430 about 20 years old. Was killing me!! Ordered same exact carburetor $17 including $10 worth of other stuff (lines, spark plug, gaskets, filters). I’m somewhat mechanically inclined but this was not rocket science. Changed out in 20 Minutes and, as advertised, set choke, pulled twice with factory setting and BINGO!! Runs perfect. Even starts again if you turn it off. Thanks again. .

I'm having the same issue with my br400. I'm going to put a new carb on it and see how it goes 🤞

How did it go?!

I have the exact same blower. To cold start it, full choke, wide open throttle. It will start and die. Once it does that, no choke, wide open, starts on 3rd pull, runs perfect.

I’ve wondered if all mine needed was a new filter on the pickup tube. The new carb is still going strong over a year later though. I recently replaced the air filter and pre filter with Stihl parts and spent more than I did on the new carb.

TorqueWagon mine runs very well but it doesn't like to idle. It idles perfect for about 20 seconds and then starts to load up and flood out and foul the spark plug. It likes to be ran wide open, and if it can't be ran wide open it likes to have the throttle burped multiple times. Mabe I might be running too much oil in the gas.

Did you have to adjust the fuel mixture screws or were they set already out of the box?
@TorqueWagon3 жыл бұрын
It’s been a while since I did this, but I think I had to make a few minor adjustments.

I got pot luck with these hippas, 5/10 work for me okay some don't, some need adjustment. I can't warrant Chinese carbs to my customers or even aftermarket kits unfortunately cause they are a crap shoot. They tend to work for a year or two or three max for me

Not surprised by your comment. I must have gotten a decent one because it’s been at least 4 years and still works fine. That said, the factory carb was good for probably 15+ years and would have lasted longer if it would have been properly maintained and winterized.
