Hey, did you have any spark before replacing the ignition coil? I have a spark (and a new plug), cleaned the carb, replaced the gas, removed the spark arrestor, cleaned the muffler but my 340 would not start.

I did not have spark. I Tested the spark plug to make sure it was good.

You didn't have to take the spark plug out to install the orange. How thick was the spacer gauge you used? Paper or cardboard the thickness of a book of matches? Great video! Thanks for sharing.

I just used a business card for the spacer. And I think I did take the spark plug out to reinstall the orange cover.

My replacement OEM coil does not come with the spark plug cap. Can I remove the wire from the old coil easily and use it? In other words does it unplug from the coil? Thanks.

Can you remove the coil without taking the carburetor loose? Does the coil wire unplug from the coil you bought? Thanks.

@D H I did not have to mess with the carb., that I can remember. And I believe the wire did not detach

The wire does not detach but you can remove the boot and coil spring to put on new wire. Not too difficult.
