ive done a lot of repairs like this...the best solution even if the wire has been slightly compromised...i clean off the wire and coil good and use a piece of heat shrink tubing to go over it to hold it in place better...add a little lube as you put the wire and coil back into the boot...works great even if the plug wire insulation has been damaged...locks it in place...

@@DependableDonsGarage ive even when the wire is short...cut another piece of wire to fill the gap to the wire coil and heat shrink it to stabilize the fit...

Vid didn't show this but how long is the plug wire with the case on (how much sticks out of the plug hole)? I pulled the terminal right off of the plug wire -- the spring coil was stuck TIGHT onto the plug terminal (memo to self: remember to use some never seize or SuperLube PTFE gel on the spring coil before sliding it back onto the plug terminal.) The plug wire looks too short -- but perhaps I simply need to pull the case (uuggghh) to get the terminal hooked back into the wire??

Not long at all really, it only goes up to corner of the elbow. So maybe like an inch longer then what you can see?

Man I would’ve just replaced the whole ignition coil at that point lol

The thought did cross my mind initially. At that point I haven’t even heard it run yet though so wanted to make sure it was in decent shape even!
