Great video! I especially like the electrical diagnostic between the switch and the magneto leads. I’d never seen that before and it’s simple and easy. Also the side by side testing of old and new magnetos. That really tells it all. Thanks!

great vid . I have this same blower same model. did all the tests all is well.. even the coil testing ok on meter.. plastic washers in place .. compression 120 psi.. switch working correctly still won't start. I am replacing the coil anyway .. had to watch my friend.. great job

Didn’t have spark?

Check the flywheel. Make sure the key isn’t sheared

@@SHONEY21Z I will admit thats one thing I didnt check but now I will.. even checked the valves they were a little out but not much.

@MunkyWrench yeah let me know. Could have spark and compression but if the timing is off it won’t fire

I have to disagree that the plastic washers isolate anything. The screws still make contact with the leads and the magneto as they go through the mounts to ground on the engine. I think either they’re not factory or are for another purpose. Or am I completely wrong? I’ve never seen plastic washers on magneto screws before.

That’s a good point. I may have been looking at that all wrong. The spacer is necessary to alone the coil over the flywheel, but the screw going through would ground it. Maybe it’s necessary to be ground to the block so the switch can complete the circuit. Thanks for clarifying!
