The STIHL KMA 120 R is a brand new cordless KombiEngine that is part of the STIHL AP System of battery tools. This entry-level tool can be used to power a wide variety of KombiTool attachments, meaning you can tackle multiple landscaping and gardening tasks without the need for different tools.
The KMA 120 R cordless KombiEngine can be used with any KombiTool attachment in the range, excluding the smaller STIHL FSB-KM bent shaft grass trimmer, as the Kombi powerhead is too powerful for this attachment. This means you won’t have to replace any KombiTools you may already have and it’s an easy way to move across to battery power.

The battery-powered KombiEngine is fitted with a loop handle which can position the STIHL KMA 120 R across the body and can be adjusted quickly thanks to the quick-release system. Simply release the orange clamp and move the handle to a position that best suits you.
To use the KMA 120 R cordless KombiEngine, first choose the KombiTool you need. Insert the KombiTool into the shaft and tighten it to secure it in place. Once this is done, check the work areas for wildlife. Then slot in the STIHL battery and choose a speed level. Eco mode reduces the RPM to extend the run time, while level 2 is for maximum performance in demanding applications. In both modes the trigger also allows you to vary the speed to suit the job at hand thanks to the brushless EC motor.  
Once you’ve chosen your speed level, you can start using the STIHL KMA 120 R to complete the task at hand. When you’ve finished the task and need to switch to a different KombiTool, you can easily remove the attachment and insert another KombiTool and start working again!

Ohhh looks great but what’s the difference between this and the kma135 , surely if it’s lighter then the kma135 will it not effect the balance of the tools attached

There is a really good American video comparison. It is actually very fractionally heavier which is a shame as that would have been a good selling point as they are both heavier than equivalent petrol with AP300s in! The motor is apparently the same as well so won’t be a lot of different in performance either! Only selling point is a it bit cheaper but because of that the built quality particularly on trigger isn’t as premium so the grip is bit more plasticy rather than soft rubber finish. It also has two speed rather that 3. one improvement in my opinion is the way you select the speed is a simple switch which has two positions where as on the 135 it’s done with the thumb switch that also turns machine on so you can easily change the speed without wanting to!
