I have Sugi and Tsumura light bars and both are excellent! 110 bucks shipped for a 24in tsumura is a excellent deal from Eric Weakland! Ive got 4 Stihls 5 Huskys and i pick up the Huskys the most just because of the smoothness and less vibration! My white knuckle hands tell me they are the best far as vibration. My Echo rarely gets used just because in no time my hands are numb! Good stuff gentleman and see ya next time!
@oakiewoodsman5 ай бұрын
Thank you for sharing where you are getting your bars and you experience with them. I have also heard good things about them. I believe that the Stihl Light bars are a bit lighter than the two Japanese light bars. Please let me know if that is wrong. I know that Tsumura (i think) has those very light bars that are more comparable in weight to the STIHL light bars but are far more flexible. I want to say that I saw that on Mitchells Backyard Logging. I totally get it about the smooth factor! Today when I was cutting I had the 460 out and the 562. I did not intend on running the 562 for much other than marking the firewood lengths because it had the laser on it. Well, I just couldn't help myself. In the Firewood pile, the 562 was so excellent in the 12" wood. I liked running the 460 but was drawn back to the 562XP. Thank you again Ted!

I have an old Husky 51 that its longevity sold me on the brand. I bought a 585 last year for milling and just recently bought a 562. LOOOOOOVE IT!!! Being from and living in North Carolina, they know nothing about full wrap handles but I ordered one for each and it’s a total game changer. I’m a lefty and it definitely gives you more options to hold onto than a stock handle. I also bought a 28” bar and that’62 pulls it with ease. It’s great for bucking when you have a trashed lower back. I also have a 24” for it to for general felling. I’m not a pro tree guy, but I inherited our family farm of 56 acres and it’s been in the family for close to 200 years (190 to be exact) and I have a bunch of big pines that are begging to be turned into slabs and used to build a barn with. I haven’t run an Echo and have a Stihl weed eater that I really love. It’s a great machine but the guy at my local Saw shop went to school with my son and hooked me up on a really great deal on that 585 ( $1100 out the door) and an equally great deal on the 562. They have a 395 that’s calling my name as well. I see another orange saw in my future 😂🤣. Much love to y’all from across the country and you fellas be safe out there. God Bless🤙🤙
@oakiewoodsman5 ай бұрын
I sure appreciate you watching and being here. Also, it sounds as if you have had some really cool circumstances between the property and the saws to maintain it! You sure have a good lineup. I have heard that many people say the 585/592 are actually worthy of taking over the 395s place so you have a very good line up. Over where you are at, you should have some Loblolly pines right? The pines at my location are Short leaf and are a tad different. A little bit slower growing and more fire resistant. Do you have a sawmill yet or are you just chainsaw milling?
@ibbylancaster89815 ай бұрын
@@oakiewoodsman Roger that on the Loblolly’s. I have some big ones out there. There’s a 10 acre spot that’s been untouched for At least my Dads lifetime ( almost 80 years). At the moment, I am just Alaska milling it but I have a set of plans for a gas powered mill and I have been a welder and fabricator for 20+ years. I missed out on a really great deal for one that had been sitting for a few years and needed some carb work and general TLC. All in due time. I’m not in a rush. I just enjoy the process. You can fire up a saw and forget about all the woke BS going on and do Man stuff. And trying to pass on the knowledge that I have gained over the years to my grandchildren. And that 585 is no slouch. I don’t know what would be gained by 7 more CC’s , but I’m probably going to try and find out 🤣😂. I used to be really bad off on pain pills, I have about 12 years sober and I guess now, instead of investing in more pills, I have traded one addiction for another 😉. I can definitely think of worse things to piss my money away on. Going to try and do a pipe mod for both newer saws soon. My 51 will stay like it is until it loses compression and then I might upgrade it as well. I would definitely recommend a full wrap bar for that 62. Gives you a lot more flexibility. I’m definitely sold on that particular west coast vibe. Hoping you folks stay safe during this stormy time of year out there. It’s getting ready to be Hurricane season here in NC so I’ll be ready with at least 5 gallons of mix gas and and a handful of chains for each saw to get out and help if the need arises. And I know about shorleaf pines as well. We have a few around here but they aren’t usually the norm, just the exception. Much love to you folks🤙🤙

Excellent news on being sober! Thank you for taking the time to share and I would love to hear about your experiences with the mods and the sawmill when you get it done. I sincerely appreciate you writing all of that out. It is sometimes nice to step away from the cares of the world. The weather has been particularly volatile here this Spring and since I have been here, I would say the most damage has occurred in a relatively close proximity. Thank you again and you be safe as well!

My 7310 is husky mount, it's ported as well but it is heavier. I still use my ported 620pw and honestly the 501p ported is my favorite saw it just so nice and light and balances. The onky downside to my 620p is it sure does drink fuel and red armour isn't cheap but man is it the best oil
@oakiewoodsman4 ай бұрын

@@oakiewoodsman bigger tanks so hard to say. I use the 7310 for milling so the port and muffler mod are geared towards that vs pure power. My 620p from what I see in the video is much more agreessive of port than what yours is. I got nine done by donny walker who's pretty experienced. The 7310 have the best filter on the market so with milling it's a pretty nice feature since you are making so much fine dust
