In wood that size the 500i would win if the chain is proper on both. The rpm is just too high on it compared to 880/881, up to 25" there is no way the 880 wins. 500i is a zippy saw with a 28-36" bar. 880 is a tractor that can pull 7 foot long bars. Simple as. Apples to oranges

Thx ! Nice comparison...500! Is a bad boy but the 880 is killin it..my go to saw 500! Lightweight powerful and use all day my 880 not use heavy all day....still like owning both....Great tools ! Thx for sharing guys

..... if you could only have one to run on a tree crew , which one ? I'm not satisfied with the current saws at work and plan on buying one or the other and a top handle to climb with . Just as a crew member I'm obviously not made of money and pretty much have one shot at this.

@@johnymartin5411 I own 2 500i now....Those are really all you need for medium to big wood...Feels great way up high in the tree to... (Is hard to just pick one saw when being a tree trimmer/cuttet) I m sure in time you will Is acquire more..peace 🤙

I like the 880/881 for stumping and milling. For anything else up to 36" the 500i is faster AND lighter.

Your the types of guys that “know how to run a saw” because you’ve been doing it your whole life until one day you realize you’ve been working with no accidents on borrowed time because you have no idea how to work safely and almost cut your leg off. Just learn how to be safe.

@@FilipZorvansawmen úgy kérlek hogy az kitárt hogy ennyivel lassabban menjen erőlködött is ilyen kis fában nagyjából ugyanúgy vinné mint a 880 as nagy fában mutatkozna a különbség ezt nem tudom elhinni hogy mind 2 ugyanolyan éles volt vagy ha mégis akkor nem kezelte jól az 500 i t ez csak az én véleményem nem kell rá adni, de elég sokat foglalkoztam favágással meg rengeteg videót is néztem szóval szerintem helyt áll amit említek itt kérdezz meg másokat is ki a véleménye mert hogy itt valami nem stimmel az biztos.Nincs semmi degradáló inditatásom vagy h rossz fényt vessek a videóra ez csak véleményem volt. Szép napot

@@FilipZorvansawmen Com'è spiegarlo nel video la stihl ms 500i se osservi a la catena dalla spranga detta barra è molla tagliando con la catena molla il rischio è di rompere la barra xk praticamente fa dei salti non è un movimento liscio è continuo è tutto un salto quindi cosa succede la macchina aumenta i giri motore xk è come se sfollase è la barra prendendo i colpi potresti rompere il filo in mezzo
