This is a bad how to video. I was operating based on what the customer told me but they arent always right. I've had 4 or 5 of these brought to me because they wont start and all but one has been the owner not knowing how to start it. I have another video on how to actually rebuild these carbs but diagnostic procedure should be check for spark, compression, and fuel supply to engine. If you have all 3 and it still wont run or runs poorly then it is likely a defective coil that lost proper ignition timing, a contaminated or blocked fuel system, or an air leak.

Good job! Keep-em coming.

An empty fuel tank is a obvious indication as to non starting and how to proceed. In fact that's the first observation to make.

You didn’t show if it will start on its own without priming it

I pinned a comment that gave a summary about why this was a bad video and included proper diagnostic procedure. Due to the design of the fuel system on this machine the unit will not stay running if it only starts after providing an external fuel source. The issue on this one was stale fuel and a customer that had forgotten proper starting procedure. I have another video on how to rebuild the carb on this saw if that is information you need.
