The manual states that knut for the blade and chain should only be hand tight. Do you recommended making it bar tight?

The chain should not be very tight. If you pull the chain and see bottom teeth, it is fine, more it is too lose and less too tight

No, not at all. All I do when I don't use it for some time is to empty the fuel from the tank

It has sliding "mechanism" and you have to move it when operating in temperatures under 10C and it is called "Winter mode". It is located under orange cover held by 3 screws.
