There's an easier way to do this and the only part of the saw you take off is the handle. With the handle off, you can pull the fuel line out with pliers from below the carb cavity. Then you can replace the line easily by pushing the cavity and tank away from each other enough to push the grommet down into the tank. Then thread the hose into the carb cavity.

The flat spot on that line should point to the front so the line is pointing to the right side of the saw inside the tank.

Intake boot is what it is. It fits from the carb to the cylinder.

The piece you don’t recognize is the intake boot, goes from behind the carb to the cylinder intake. Nice video.
